Alexander Harper “Xander” Berkeley is an American actor known for his television roles as George Mason in ‘24,’ Sheriff Thomas McAllister in ‘The Mentalist,’ Gregory in ‘The Walking Dead’ and Percy Rose in ‘Nikita.’ He is also active in films and his notable movie projects include ‘Terminator 2: Judgment Day,’ ‘Air Force One,’ ‘Sid and Nancy,’ and ‘Candyman.’ Interested in performing from childhood, Berkeley started acting while in school, performing with an experimental theater troupe which eventually shaped his acting skills. He then went to Hampshire College where he participated in the plays of the five-college system of which his college was a part. Berkeley later moved to Hollywood and began playing small and big screen roles in 1981. Since then, he has appeared in more than 90 films and over 70 television programs. He has also provided voices for a number of animated series including ‘Gargoyles’ and ‘Teen Titans.’ He is also a talented sculptor, painter, and makeup artist. Berkeley has been married to actress Sarah Clarke since 2002 and has two daughters.

Career
Alexander Harper Berkeley started acting in the 1980s. During the decade, he had guest roles in a number of television dramas including ‘M*A*S*H,’ ‘Hart to Hart,’ ‘The Incredible Hulk,’ ‘The Renegades,’ ‘Falcon Crest,’ ‘The Twilight Zone’ and ‘Miami Vice.’ He also featured in the films ‘Mommie Dearest,’ ‘Sid and Nancy,’ ‘Straight to Hell,’ and ‘Deadly Dreams’ during this time.
During the 1990s, the actor appeared in a number of movies including ‘The Rookie’, ‘Terminator 2: Judgment Day’, ‘Candyman’ and ‘Leaving Las Vegas’ and also made guest appearances in several drama series such as ‘ER,’ ‘The X-Files’ and ‘Law & Order.’
Berkeley started the new millennium with roles in the films ‘Timecode’ and ‘Shanghai Noon’. In 2001, he was cast as George Mason in the action drama series ‘24’. Following appearances in the crime drama series ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation’, the actor appeared in three episodes of ‘Teen Titans’.
In 2005, he starred as Arlen Pavich in the drama film ‘North Country’. He played Detective Vic Gigante in the superhero black comedy flick ‘Kick-Ass’ a story of an ordinary teen boy who sets out to become a superhero.
From 2010 to 2012, Berkeley featured in ‘The Booth at the End’, an acclaimed web series that earned him a Streamy Award. Soon after this, he joined the cast of the supernatural horror comedy-drama series ‘Being Human’ as Liam McLean.
In 2014, he lent his voice to the character of Kirk Langstrom in the animated superhero movie ‘Son of Batman’. That year, the actor also began playing Magistrate Hale in the supernatural horror drama series ‘Salem’.
From 2016 to 2018, Berkeley starred as Gregory in AMC’s post-apocalyptic horror drama series ‘The Walking Dead’.

Alexander Harper Berkeley starred as Percy in The CW’s ‘Nikita’, a series that focuses on a woman who escapes from a secret organization and later brings down the organization. Adapted from the 1990 film ‘Nikita’ and the 1997 television drama ‘La Femme Nikita,’ the series also featured other artists like Maggie Q, Shane West, Lyndsy Fonseca, Melinda Clarke and Aaron Stanford in lead roles.
