Career

Initially, Reece King was not interested in being a model. He was busy with his education, skating, and hanging out with his friends. It all changed when he posted a photo of himself on Instagram wearing a LAMODA septum ring. LAMODA found out about it and reposted the picture.

Soon, it went viral and King suddenly started getting modelling offers. Two weeks after the post, he met his current agent, Leah Hibbert, who signed him with the Supa Model Management. Some of the prominent brands he has since worked for are GAP, Forever 21, and John Elliott.

Prior to becoming a model, King worked in retail. After the viral Instagram post with the LAMODA septum ring, clothing company Deck reached out and asked him to send some of his clothing items to them. At first, it was “just strictly business”. However, after he started promoting their merchandise, Deck offered him the chance to sell his clothes under their brand.

In 2017, the Deck x King clothing subsidiary was launched

He has stated that he considers being financially secure to be the best part of being a model.

He also loves that he gets to travel a lot because of his profession and once stated in an interview, “Every place I’ve got to travel to I haven’t been before.”

Personal Life

Reece King was born on November 1, 1994, in Essex, England. His father is Irish and his mother is originally from the Caribbean island of St. Vincent. She has also spent a considerable part of her life in Portugal. King is the youngest of three siblings. He has an older brother and an older sister.

In January 2017, replying to a comment on Twitter, he stated that he is bisexual. While the original comment was insensitive, he answered it with poise and dignity.

King has several tattoos on his body and considers them to be his second skin. He got his first tattoo after he turned 14. In an interview, he revealed that his extensive collection of body art makes him more confident. He has tattoos of, among others, a wolf on his hand, an owl on the inside of his forearm, and a lion on his finger.

When he is not modelling, he spends his time binge-watching shows and films on Netflix. His favourite TV show is ‘American Horror Story’.

Trivia

King is quite superstitious about certain things. Every time he sees a magpie, he promptly salutes the bird.
