Family & Personal Life
Not much is known about Patricia’s childhood or her whereabouts in England during her early years. She was born in 1944, in Hampshire, UK. Patricia met her first husband, Samuel Nowlin Reeves, a geologist from Hawaii, when she was 21, in Beirut, Lebanon. Back then, she worked as a costume designer and performed as a showgirl at a casino. Patricia and Samuel fell madly in love with each other. The couple got married in 1964, and their first child, Keanu Reeves, was born on September 2, 1964.
Samuel had an affinity to alcohol and drugs, which created a rift in their marriage. His propensity to get into trouble was not conducive to a family life. Soon after their daughter, Kim Reeves, was born on September 16, 1966, Samuel abandoned his wife and children. Keanu Reeves was only 2 years old at the time. Patricia moved to Sydney, Australia, with her two children, where they lived for a year before moving to New York.
Patricia got married to Paul Aaron, in 1970, in New York. Paul was a ‘Broadway’ and movie director, who gave Keanu Reeves a sneak peek into the world of cinema, providing the impetus for his interest in acting and a life in Hollywood. Patricia and Paul stayed together only for a year, before getting divorced in 1971.
Patricia left New York and moved to Toronto, Canada, where she met music promoter Robert Miller. She got married to Robert in 1976 and then gave birth to her second daughter, Karina Miller. However, Patricia broke her ties with Robert in 1980.
Her last husband, Jack Bond, was a salon owner and hairdresser in Toronto, with whom she stayed till 1994. Patricia’s struggles as a young mother of two had a deep impact on her son Keanu, who never established any ties with his biological father. Incidentally, Keanu’s father had multiple run-ins with the law throughout his life.
