Theo Silveston Biography

Theo Silveston was born in 1977 in London, United Kingdom. He decided to become a hairdresser early in his life as both his parents were hairdressers. He started his professional career at the age of 16. Initially, he worked alongside his father after his parents decided to go their separate ways. After learning the various techniques involved in hairdressing from his father, Silveston branched out and started working for other hairdressers in London. After working for more than 20 years, he decided to start his own hair salon. In one of his interviews, he said he did not like the workplace where he was previously employed and thus began his own venture. Also, he wanted to come up with a fashionable hairdressing boutique.

Though Silveston did not ask any of his former colleagues to join him, many of them came forward to work in his ‘Kink Hair Salon.’ The opening ceremony of the salon, which took place in 2007, was attended by his family and friends. He later said that it was a special moment in his life. ‘Kink Hair Salon’ has become one of the most popular salons in London. It offers many customized services, including various ‘Bridal Packages.’ The award-winning salon has a website which helps the customers know about various services and prices.

Theo Silveston was introduced to Rita Simons by a common friend. Simons was just 19 when she first met him. After dating for many years, Silveston and Simons decided to tie the knot. They got married in August 2004 in a low key affair. Simons was not famous at the time of her wedding; she received her big breakthrough three years after her wedding when she was roped in to play Roxy Mitchell in the ‘BBC’ series ‘EastEnders.’ Over the years, Theo Silveston has played an important role in Rita Simons’ success as he supports his wife’s passion for acting. The couple made headlines in 2018 when Simons became part of the popular reality television game show ‘I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here.’ Silveston is also popular on social media.

Silveston and his wife were blessed with their twin girls, Maiya and Jaimee, in 2006. Maiya was born with ‘Mondini dysplasia,’ a condition which causes severe hearing loss. When she was just six months old, she was diagnosed with ‘Enlarged Vestibular Aqueducts’ (EVA). The twin sisters have developed a unique sign language, which allows them to communicate with ease. Despite her condition, Maiya attends a mainstream school as she is an expert lip-reader. Both Silveston and Simons decided to learn sign language when Maiya was six years old. When she was 12, her parents got her a pair of cochlear implants which has improved her hearing.
