Malia Jones was drawn toward water even as an infant, and she began practicing skateboarding as a child. Her mother’s love for the sport influenced her. Malia started competitive surfing when she turned a teenager and made the headlines after winning the girls’ division in the Amateur Surfing Championship in the US when she was just 15 years old. Since then, she has never had to look back as her athletic prowess and stunning beauty landed her many modeling assignments. She was immediately approaching by Surfing Magazine to model for their swimsuit issue, and Jones’s career as a model took off.

In 2002, she was named among the ‘102 Sexiest Women in the World’ by Stuff Magazine. Later in the year, she ranked #72 in the Maxim list of ‘Hot 100 of 2002.’ These only garnered more attention to her name. Malia Jones steadily climbed the ladder by appearing as the lead model and cover model for various popular magazines such as Esquire and Maxim. She was at the peak of her career in the mid-2000s and posed for Sports Illustrated as their swimsuit model. She also worked for many commercials, notably American Express, Capri Sun, Coca-Cola, and Corona Beer. In 2005, she climbed the rank to #44 in Maxim’s list of ‘Hot 100 of 2005’. Jones eventually started working as a consultant and was associated with the popular Disney movie ‘Lilo & Stitch’ as a surfing consultant. She has also designed swimwear for many brands, including Mambo Graphics sportswear.

Apart from modelling, Malia Jones has also worked as a television personality. In 2003, she was part of the documentary ‘Top Ten Hawaiian Beach Resorts’ and later appeared in the short ‘The Girls of Surf’. She turned a host in 2006 for the American edition of ‘XSTV: Xtreme Sport Television’. In 2014, she appeared as the judge in ‘Motor City Masters’ in ‘The Ultimate Beach Vehicle’ episode. More recently, after settling down, Jones decided to become an entrepreneur and launched her own swimwear brand, Malia Jones Swimwear. She is intensely focused on her brand and continues to involve herself in its day-to-day activities. The brand is currently marketed and sold in high-end boutiques across the country and the world.

Malia Jones was born on March 27, 1977 in Loma Linda, California to Violet Jones-Medusky and John Jones. Her mother was a marathoner and nurse, while her father was a dentist. She traces her ancestry to Hawaiian, Spanish, and German descent. Malia’s family moved to Kailua, Hawaii when she was just two years old.

Malia Jones married to the surfer Conan Hayes in 1999, but the couple later divorced. She was later seen dating the Australian professional surfer Luke Stedman, and the couple got married in 2007. The couple has a son, Spike Stedman, who was born in 2009. While she was married to Stedman, Jones divided her time between France, Australia, and Hawaii. However, the couple’s relationship frayed and ended in a divorce. Rumors later surfaced that Jones was dating the Australian actor Alex O’Loughlin. She gave birth to their son, Lion O’Loughlin, in 2012. Jones and O’Loughlin finally tied the knot on April 18, 2014 in Hawaii. She is currently happily married and lives with her family in Hawaii. She loves travelling in her spare time and prefers to relax in Italy and France.
