Luh Kel is an American rapper currently affiliated with the St. Louis-based super group ProjecX as the lead vocalist. His original name is Turran Coleman. A native of Tennessee, he has harboured singing aspirations since he was a child. He used to perform at local events in St. Louis before he successfully auditioned for ProjecX. He is the youngest member of the group of four. After meeting each other at the DJCF Center in March 2015, they delivered their first performance at Harris Stowe State University. Since then, ProjecX has established itself as one of the most promising R&B groups in the music industry today. They have put out several singles, including the highly popular track ‘Problems’. In April 2019, Luh Kel released his solo track, ‘Wrong’, to positive reviews.
Rise to Fame
Luh Kel has always been interested in music and wanted to pursue it as a career since he was quite young. While he was growing up, he performed at various local events in St. Louis. He and the other future members of ProjecX, Davion Swinson, Aziz Muhammad, and Nicholas Hill, met at the DJCF Center in March 2015. Their first performance took place at Harris Stowe State University in St. Louis. It was a success, and the group was soon booked for several more events.
An agent subsequently hired them for a performance at the Missouri Historical Museum event Twilight Tuesday, where they appeared as Jackson 5. This was also a massive hit; over 6000 people attended the event to watch them perform. Later, the group performed in California for a special salute to the troops. In January 2016, on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, they took the stage to perform alongside an orchestra at Washington University in St. Louis. Since then, ProjecX has been gradually accumulating recognition. They have performed at several other prominent venues, including Disneyland in May 2016 and released several singles. In 2016, they put out their most popular single to date, ‘Problems’. At present, they are working on their first album.
In April 2019, Luh Kel’s solo single, ‘Wrong’, was released on digital media. He has a YouTube channel, through which he put out the music video for the track on April 5, 2019. The channel has garnered two hundred thousand subscribers to date.
The oldest video on his Instagram was posted on November 13, 2018. In the ensuing months, the page has witnessed a rapid rise in popularity. On it, he currently has over eight hundred thousand followers. Besides posting selfies and other personal photographs, he also shares videos of his own singing on Instagram.
Luh Kel created his Twitter account in July 2017. Unlike Instagram and YouTube, he merely has a few thousand followers on it. He also has a Facebook page, on which he has over 20 thousand followers.
