Melesha O’Garro, professionally known as Lady Leshurr, is one-of-a-kind rapper, singer, and producer from England. She rose to fame after the release of her ‘Queen’s Speech’ series of freestyles. In 2016, her fourth freestyle from the series went viral, making her a well-recognized hip-hop rapper and singer. Her other mixtapes also received critical regard. She released her first mixtape in 2009, titled ‘Unleshuur.’ Since then, she has released many mixtapes including ‘The Last Second’ (2009), ‘1:21 AM’ (2010), ‘Friggin’ L’ (2011), ‘ L Yeah’ (2013), and ‘Lil Bit of Lesh’ (2014). As a featured artist, she has been a part of many songs such as ‘Move’ by ‘Fire Camp’ (2011), ‘Run Your Mouth’ by ‘Noisses’ (2012),‘Blazin’ by ‘Torqux’ (2013), ‘I Ain’t Rich Yet’ by J. Appiah (2013), and ‘Run’ by Tigs Da Author (2016). As a lead artist, she released her first song ‘Friggin’ in 2011. Her other songs include ‘Queen Speech 3,’ Queen Speech 4,’ ‘Queen Speech 5,’ ‘Where Are You Now,’ ‘Queen Speech 6,’ ‘Queen Speech 7,’ and ‘R.I.P.’ Her latest single, titled ‘OMW’ came out 2018.

Childhood & Early Life
Melesha was born on December 15, 1989, in Kingshurst, Solihull, England. Her parents belonged to the Caribbean Isle of St. Kitts.
Melesha grew up in a family of rappers and musicians. In 2011, she stated that her mother used to play a lot of reggae such as Bob Marley and Sister Nancy.
Due to the musical environment of her house, O’Garro started writing and rapping at a very young age. She started writing poetry and rap songs at age six.
She was hardly 11 when she was influenced by mc’s in the era of UK Garage Scene. By the time she was fourteen, she had already started writing her own lyrics and even released a mixtape, titled ‘Needle in a Haystack.’
She funded her mixtape all by her own. Eventually, she adopted the stage name ‘Lady Leshurr’ and started performing in various rap battles all across the UK.

Career
Her unique and vibrant performances drew a lot of attention, and soon she was signed by UK’s label ‘Colourful State.’ She supported Grime legend ‘Low Deep’ during his promotional tour for his debut album ‘Unsung,’ Leshurr started getting more recognition.
She also started performing on ‘BBC,’ ‘1xtra,’ ‘Kiss FM,’ and ‘BBC Asia.’ She received a lot of attention due to her unique grime and hip-hop style.
She made her official debut with the mixtape, titled ‘Unleshurr’ followed by ‘The Last Second’ in 2009. ‘The Last Second’ featured the song ‘Slow Flow.’
In 2010, she released her first EP, titled ‘Every Little Counts’ which consisted tracks such as ‘What Did They Say,’ Female Fire,’ and ‘Red Devil.’ In the same year, she dropped another mixtape under the title ‘1:21 AM.’
She released her next EP, titled ‘Off the Lesh’ in 2011, followed by two more mixtapes called ‘L Day’ and ‘Friggin L.’ In 2012, she dropped ‘2000 and L’ which consisted of tracks such as ‘Good God,’ ‘Bun Up,’ and ‘How We Roll.’
In 2013, he released two mixtapes ‘L Yeah’ and ‘Mona Leshurr.’ In 2014, her yet another mixtape called ’Lil Bit of Lesh’ was released.
In 2015, she released a series of freestyles under the title ‘Queen’s Speech’ which went viral and got her much deserved recognition. She uploaded the first video of the series on ‘YouTube’ in February 2015 under the title ‘’Lady Leshurr – Queen’s Speech Ep.1.’
The upload received more than 7 million views on ‘YouTube.’ The second and third part received around 7 million views too, but the fourth part of the series was viewed more than 50 million times.
The sixth part of the series was released in 2016, and was viewed more than 6 million times. In the same year, she also released another EP under the title ‘Queen’s Speech.’

In 2017, she dropped her next EP, titled ‘Mode.’ She has also released various songs on her ‘YouTube’ channel such as ‘On the Road’, ‘R.I.P,’ and ‘OMW.’
She has also been featured in a number of songs since 2011. She collaborated with ‘Fire Camp’ in the song ‘Move’ in 2011 followed by another feature in ‘Murder’ by Lea-Anna.
In the same year, she was featured in Leon & Harvey’s song ‘Finally’ as well as Orbital’s song called ‘Wonky.’ In 2012, she started with a feature in Elta Bond and Raf Riley in ‘Boring Bitches.
She also collaborated with ‘Noisses’ in ‘Run Your Mouth,’ Mike Delinquet Project in ‘Step in the Dance’ and Vince Kid in ‘Sick Love.’ In 2013, she collaborated with ‘Torqux’ in ‘Blazin’, Young O in ‘Bet On It,’ and J. Appiah in ‘I Ain’t Rich Yet.’
She will be featured in Tiggs Da Author’s upcomin song called ‘Run.’

Lady Leshurr is also an actress. She played one of the female leads in 2009 British drama film ‘1 Day.’
