Kurt Hugo Schneider Biography

Schneider and Tsui have been like two peas in a pod right through school, college and their on line music career. The first video to be put up on You Tube by Kurt was a commercial for Yale’s close – circuit TV network. He produced videos of Tsui singing covers and medleys, including their online musical series, ‘College Music’. Their greatest hit has been a video of a Michael Jackson medley, which remains the 9th most viewed video on Schneider’s You Tube channel, ‘KurtHugoSchneider’ created in October 2007. Through video editing, he perfected the art of creating a one man cappella choir, where Tsui covers the lead and backing vocals are added by multiple versions of himself. Their videos went viral and their popularity soared to get them on to national television, including ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ and ’The Ellen DeGeneres Show’. His video, ‘Hold It Against Me’, with Tsui in the lead and him playing the piano featured on Britney Spears’ official website. In May 2013 Schneider and Tsui released their original debut album, ‘Make It Up’. Besides Tsui, he has collaborated with a number of stars including a Miley Cyrus medley sung by Christina Grimmie, a parody on ‘Friday’ by Rebecca Black called ‘Void Rays’ and the cover of ‘Beauty and the Beat’ by Justin Bieber. In 2013, he did a big time campaign with Coca Cola called ‘The Sounds of AHH’ in which he is shown making music playing Coca Cola bottles, cans and glasses.

Schneider was born on September 7, 1988 at Baltimore, Meryland, United States of America. His father, Michael Schneider, was a mathematician and that’s from where probably Kurt inherited his flair for maths. His mother, Laurie S Auth was a visual artist and may be attributed with his musical bent. He has mixed German and Austrian ancestry from his father’s side. Music runs in his family. His elder sister, Carson Rose, is a classical pianist. He was certainly influenced by his contemporary You Tuber, Sam Tsui, with whom he grew up and attended Wissanhickon High School together. Kurt excelled during his learning years and graduated as class Valedictorian from High School, as well as Magna Cum Laud from Yale University in 2010. He played for his university chess team and holds a USCF Elo rating of 2235 and can play multiple games blindfolded simultaneously. He has been seen spending a lot of time with Madilyn Bailey. However, their relationship is said to be more of a professional equation.
