He got noticed by casting directors after his portrayal of ‘Jake Harrison,’ one half of the iconic couple ‘Jake & Megan,’ in the ‘ABC’-aired soap opera ‘One Life to Live,’ from 1990 to 1992. This helped him earn the most recognizable role of his career, a rugged outdoorsman named ‘Byron Sully,’ in the Western drama series ‘Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman.’ His character was featured in 143 episodes of the series, from 1993 to 1998, as the love interest of ‘Michaela Quinn,’ played by Jane Seymour. The last film, produced by ‘Funny or Die,’ saw Lando reuniting with Jane Seymour and many other ‘Dr. Quinn’ cast members.
Meanwhile, he was featured in several other productions, such as the TV series ‘Guiding Light’ (1993) and ‘JAG’ (1998), the TV films ‘Shadows of Desire’ (1994) and ‘Alien Nation: The Enemy Within’ (1996), and the feature films ‘Seeds of Doubt’ (1996) and ‘No Code of Conduct’ (1998).
He starred as ‘Peter Scarbrow’ in the American–Canadian drama series ‘Higher Ground,’ created by Michael Braverman and Matthew Hastings. He also worked as an executive producer for the series. The series originally aired on the ‘Fox Family’ network for a season, from January 14, 2000, to June 16, 2000. Lando also appeared in the TV films ‘Bloodsuckers’ (2005) and ‘Engaged to Kill’ (2006), directed by Hastings.
The 2003 American made-for-TV disaster film ‘Killer Flood: The Day the Dam Broke’ featured him in the starring role of ‘David Arthur Powell’ along with actors Michele Greene and Bruce Boxleitner. The following year, he appeared in a small role, along with Lori Loughlin, in a single episode of the American TV drama series ‘Summerland.’
