Ivan Lewis Greening, popularly known as Ivan Moody, is a singer and the lead vocalist of the American metal band ‘Five Finger Death Punch’. He was born in Denver, Colorado. He spent his early years in several small cities and developed a deep love for music as a young boy. He performed in several bands before he finally joined the band ‘Five Finger Death Punch’. The group achieved commercial success with their debut album ‘The Way of the Fist,’ which spawned three top singles and sold over 600,000 copies in US. Throughout the years, the band has released several albums such as ‘War Is the Answer’ and ‘Got Your Six’. Moody has been nominated for two Golden Gods Awards. He is also part of a musical group named Ghost Machine, which has released two albums, ‘Ghost Machine’ and ‘Hypersensitive.’ As an occasional actor he has appeared in two movies, ‘Bled’ and ‘The Devil’s Carnival.’

Childhood & Early Life
Ivan Moody was born as Ivan Lewis Greening in Denver, Colorado, US, on January 7, 1980. As he grew up, he lived in several smaller cities, such as Arvada, Castle Rock, Lakewood, Wheat Ridge and Northglenn.
According to him, his grandmother put him in a choir when he was only seven years of age. Soon, he got interested in music, and at the age of sixteen, he started performing in bands.

Career
Ivan Moody moved to Los Angeles in 2001. He initially joined a band named Toiz. The band performed a few shows around the Los Angeles area in 2002. They also made a demo that was never released. The following year, Moody left Toiz and joined another band named Motograter.
Motograter released their self-titled debut album in 2003. They gained some popularity after performing at Ozzfest 2003. They also toured with bands such as Korn, Marilyn Manson, Mushroomhead and Killswitch Engage.
Alongside his involvement with Motograter, Moody also started his side project Ghost Machine, which released its self-titled debut album in 2005. It included tracks such as ‘Headstone’, ‘Vegas Moon’ and ‘Siesta Loca’. Around this time, he joined the band Five Finger Death Punch.
In November 2006, the second album by Ghost Machine, titled ‘Hypersensitive,’ was released. It included singles such as ‘Psychosocial’, ‘God Forbid’ and ‘What Made You Laugh’.
In 2007, his band Five Finger Death Punch released their debut album ‘The Way of the Fist’. It sold 3,800 copies in its first week of release. The album reached the 107th position on the US Billboard 200.
In 2009, the band released their second album ‘War is the Answer’. It was a huge success commercially, selling 44,000 copies in the first week. It reached the 7th position on the US Billboard 200. It included tracks such as ‘Dying Breed,’ ‘Bulletproof’, and ‘No One Gets Left Behind’. The same year, he also appeared in the horror film ‘Bled’. The film was directed by Christopher Hutson.
In 2011, the band released their third studio album ‘American Capitalist’. It became their most successful work, reaching the 3rd position on the US Billboard 200. It also did well in other countries, such as Finland and Canada.
In 2012, he had a minor role in the musical horror film ‘The Devil’s Carnival’, which was directed by Darren Lyn Bousman.
In 2013, the band had two releases, ‘The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Right Side of Hell- Volume 1’ and ‘The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Right Side of Hell- Volume 2’. Both did well commercially, peaking at the 2nd position on the US Billboard 200.
In September 2015, the band released its fifth studio album ‘Got Your Six’. It peaked at the 2nd position on the US Billboard 200. It performed well in several countries like Australia, Finland, New Zealand and Sweden.
The band’s most recent albums are ‘A Decade of Destruction’ (2017) and ‘And Justice for None’ (2018). The former reached the 28th position on the US Billboard 200, while the latter reached the 3rd position.
Major Works
’American Capitalist’, the third album by Ivan Moody’s band Five Finger Death Punch, is one of his most successful works. It included tracks such as ‘American Capitalist’, ‘Under and Over It’, ‘The Pride’ and ‘Menace’. It reached the 3rd position on the US Billboard 200 chart. It also performed well in other countries like Canada and Finland.
’Got Your Six’, which is the sixth album by Ivan Moody’s band, can be considered his most successful work. It included singles like ‘Jekyll and Hyde’, ‘Wash It All Away’, ‘My Nemesis, and ‘Question Everything’. It did well commercially, reaching the 2nd position on the US Billboard 200. It also performed well in Australia, Canada, Finland and Norway.
