Hilarie Burton is a renowned American actress and producer. She was also a former VJ on MTV’s ‘Total Request Live’. She gained popularity for portraying the role of high school teenager Peyton Sawyer in ‘One Tree Hill’. Besides her TV career, she is also famous for her roles in ‘Our Very Own’, ‘Normal Adolescent Behavior’, and ‘The Secret Life of Bees’. She had a recurring role on USA Network’s White Collar and One of her more popular roles was as Dr. Lauren Boswell, in the hugely popular medical drama ‘Grey’s Anatomy’. More recently she has starred as Molly Dawes in ABC’s drama ‘Forever’. She also had a role in CBS’s sci-fi show ‘Extant’. ‘The Summer Villa’, ‘Surprised By Love’, ‘Christmas on the Bayou’, and ‘The True-Love Tale of Boyfriend & Girlfriend’ are some of her well-known works. Hilarie has received praise for her role as Sara Ellis in the TV reboot of the movie franchise ‘Lethal Weapon’, in 2017. She is also involved with a number of philanthropic organizations and supports causes like equal pay for men and women and the fight against breast cancer.

Hilarie Burton was born on 1 July 1982, in Sterling, Virginia, USA. Her father is a former United States Army Special Forces member and her mother is a real estate agent. She has three younger brothers and had a religious upbringing.
She attended Park View High School, from where she graduated in 2000. She strived to be a role model from a young age and in her sophomore year, she became the student council treasurer. Her distinctive high school journey continued when in her junior year, she was elected the vice president.
There was no stopping Burton as she went on to become the cheerleading captain, student council president and homecoming queen in her senior year. She went on to finish her studies from New York University and Fordham University.

Hilarie Burton moved to New York to follow her acting dreams and got her first major break when she started working as a VJ on MTV’s ‘Total Request Live’ in the year 2000. MTV also asked her to present at MTV’s ‘Iced Out New Year’s Eve’ and the MTV Video Music Awards the same year.
She played herself in a small role on April 17, 2002, in the Warner Bros. drama series ‘Dawson’s Creek’. Her role as a VJ in the episode named ‘100 Light Years from Home’ marked the beginning of her career as an actress.
Her role in ‘Dawson’s Creek’, would catch the eye of WB executives who offered her the role of Peyton Sawyer in the series ‘One Tree Hill’. She played the role of an independent high school cheerleader, who is artistically and musically inclined, from 2003 to 2009. The series aired on September 23, 2003, and became the top-rated show on the network.
The role of Peyton Sawyer, catapulted Hilarie Burton to stardom and she featured on the covers of Magazines like Maxim, American Cheerleader Magazine, and People.
