Gloria Trevi is a Mexican singer, songwriter, and occasional actress. She began her career with the solo album ‘¿Qué Hago Aquí?’. It was a commercial success, selling more than two million copies, and peaked at the number one position across Latin America as well. Her next album ‘Tu Ángel de la Guarda’ was also a success with the popular hit ‘Pelo Suelto’. Though the album kindled some controversy, it was commercially profitable, selling around a million and a half copies. She earned a lot of fame within a short time but her career fell apart when she and her manager were accused of corrupting minors and sexually abusing and kidnapping them as well. Though they fled Mexico, they were later found and arrested in Brazil. After her release, Trevi attempted to revive her career with the album ‘Cómo Nace el Universo.’ Other than music, she is also known for playing a leading role in the Mexican TV series ‘Libre para amarte’.

Career
Glorila Trevi began her career in 1985 as a member of a girl group named Boquitas Pintada. After it broke up after three years, she approached Sergio Andrade for her first album’s production. The album ‘¿Qué Hago Aquí?’ (What Am I Doing Here) was released the following year. The album was a success, selling more than two million copies worldwide.
Her next album ‘Tu Ángel de la Guarda,’ which was released in 1991, was also a huge success. Despite kindling some controversy, it not only became popular worldwide but is also regarded as the best work of her career. Her third album ‘Me Siento Tan Sola’ was also a huge success, earning her a lot of popularity and appreciation. Her next album ‘Más Turbada Que Nunc’ was also a hit. Besides Mexico, it became popular in countries, such as Peru, Guatemala and Ecuador.
Her fifth album was ‘Si Me Llevas Contigo’, which was also a major hit. Released in 1995, it produced two moderate hits ‘Ella Que Nunca Fue Ella’ and ‘Si Me Llevas Contigo’. In March 1996, she announced that she would be retiring as her manager Andrade was supposedly battling cancer. Her last two concerts were held at the National Auditorium on 16th and 17th March.
She and her manager Andrade were arrested in 2000, on charges of corrupting, kidnapping, and sexually abusing minors. However, due to lack of evidence, she was eventually released after four years.
After she came out of jail, she released her next album ‘Cómo Nace el Universo’. It was a moderate success. Her next album ‘Ona Rosa Blue’, which was released after three years, also became a terrific success. It sold 50,000 copies in its first day of release. It appeared on the Mexico Top 100 chart at the fifth position as well as the US Billboard 200 at the 169th position. She released four more albums over the next ten years: ‘Gloria’ (2011)’, ‘De Pelicula’ (2013), ‘El Amor’ (2015) and ‘Versus’ (2017).
She has also appeared in a few movies and TV shows. She played a leading role in the TV series ‘Libre para amarte’ which aired in 2013 from June to November.

Gloria Trevi was born on 15th February 1968 in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, in Mexico. Not much is known about her early life or parents.
In 2009, she married a lawyer named Armando Gomez. They have two sons. The family resides in McAllen, Texas, in the US.
