Gaurav Chaudhary was hit by the idea of becoming a tech YouTuber after he stumbled upon the channel 'Sharmaji Technical.’ Owned by Prabal Sharma, the channel primary posts tech review content in Hindi. Gaurav was intrigued by the idea of discussing technology with a Hindi-speaking audience. He collaborated with Prabal and uploaded a few videos on his channel. Those videos gave a boost to 'Sharmaji Technical,' which inspired Gaurav to launch his own YouTube channel.

However, he was not keen on making it a review-centric channel. Instead, he wanted to create informative videos, explaining the features of new technologies.

Gaurav launched his YouTube channel 'Technical Guruji' on 18 October 2015, and little did he know that it would become one of the most successful channels in India. Soon after he posted the first few videos, his channel started getting a lot of views, and the subscriptions also grew dramatically. Currently, the channel has over 12 million subscribers, making it one of the fastest growing YouTube channels in India. In 2017, Gaurav launched his second channel that primarily hosts non-technical content. One can find Gaurav's fan fest, YouTube fest, and travel vlogs on the channel. He has also tried hands at comedy in collaboration with the YouTuber Anisha Dixit, better known as Rickshawali. His second channel has over two million subscribers.

Gaurav started making YouTube videos as a hobby after he moved to Dubai in 2012. In Dubai, he earned a certification to work with the security system of the Dubai police and started working as a Dubai Police security engineer. Even though he started his YouTube career outside India, he wanted to create content for the Indian audience. In order to engage with more audience, Gaurav decided to make videos in Hindi. The concept of making tech videos in Hindi was new to the YouTube arena. Hence, it clicked and took Gaurav’s YouTube career to another level. In September 2018, Gaurav was the ninth most subscribed tech YouTuber, while in November of the same year, he was named the first tech YouTuber to garner over 10 million subscribers. Gaurav has been awarded the silver and golden 'Play Buttons' from YouTube.

Unlike other tech YouTubers, Gaurav is not a gadget reviewer. In fact, he is against hands-on reviews and instant verdict on new gadgets. His content mainly focuses on providing full information about gadgets rather than giving their premature reviews. However, he is still often compared to other tech YouTubers, like 'Geekyranjit', who primarily do review videos.

Gaurav is also active on other social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, where he has over a million followers.

Gaurav Chaudhary was once subjected to an internet feud after a Hindi tech channel called 'Technical Sagar' accused him of not giving credit to other YouTubers. In his 15-minute video titled 'EK GHATIYA INSAAN – TECHNICAL GJI EXPOSED FULL STORY #SHAME,' Sagar questioned Gaurav’s credibility, called him names and accused him of not acknowledging his inspirations. Sagar was later bashed by 'Technical Guruji' fans for making such nasty remarks.

Gaurav Chaudhary was born on May 7, 1991 in India. He grew up with an elder brother and two sisters. His father owned a family business of CCTV cameras and security devices. The Chaudhary family moved from Bikaner to Ajmer in the Indian state of Rajasthan. Gaurav completed his schooling from 'Kendriya Vidyalaya' before earning a B. Tech degree in electronics from the 'Rajasthan Technical University.' He was one of the toppers of the university. He then pursued M. Tech in microelectronics from the Dubai campus of the 'Birla Institute of Technology & Science', where he was awarded a gold medal for his academic excellence. One of Gaurav Chaudhary’s sisters is a police inspector, while the other works as a teacher.

A tough time in Gaurav’s life came when his father met with an accident and went into coma. Suddenly, all the family responsibilities fell on his shoulders, and he had to start looking after his father’s business. His technical expertise helped him understand the business better and faster. Although he learned to code when he was in the 11th grade, his is primarily fascinated by the hardware side of things.

He currently lives in Dubai and occasionally visits his hometown in Rajasthan. Gaurav is admittedly quite keen on collaborating with other YouTubers, as it helps his channel garner a wider audience. He has done collaborations with several YouTubers, including the fashion vlogger Sejal Kumar.
