Bali Baby was born on June 15, 1997, in Atlanta, Georgia. She had a keen interest in music even as a kid. She grew up with an older brother and a younger sister who passed away when she was still a kid.

Bali began learning music and became an expert piano player in her teenage years. Although music had a strong influence on her while she was growing up, she had no particular interest in rap music. She played a musical game called ‘Guitar Hero.’

Initially, she was a huge fan of Lana Del Rey. However, Atlanta was the hub of Southern rappers, and as Bali grew up, she could not avoid the influence of rap music.

She admired Nicki Minaj, and without knowing that she would eventually become a rapper, she started freestyling casually. She played soccer in school and wanted to join a big university through a soccer scholarship.

She had an artistic inclination ever since she was young. She designed her own set of accessories, such as shirts, shoes, and handbags. In addition, she was also a skilled painter. However, she never quite thought about pursuing any other artistic career apart from rapping. By 2016, she had started taking her music seriously. She recorded her first song the same year.

Career

Before May 2016, she had not even been inside an actual music studio. She soon recorded her first song, ‘Designer.’ Although it did not become popular initially, she liked the exposure she got. The song eventually became viral on ‘SoundCloud.’ She sat down writing her debut mixtape and finished it in a single night.

Her debut mixtape was titled ‘Bali’s Play’ and was released in 2016. She released the mixtape independently on ‘SoundCloud,’ but it did not attract as much attention as she wanted. However, she continued writing and making music in the coming months.

Her mixtape ‘Bubbles Bali’ became popular on ‘SoundCloud’ and ‘YouTube’ toward late 2016. One song in particular, titled ‘Do Da Dash,’ became extremely popular and garnered more than half a million views on ‘YouTube.’

In January 2017, she released another single, titled ‘Dip Dip Freestyle.’ Her raps were written in a freestyle manner and expressed a woman’s unabashed sexual desire, which made her popular with young girls. In the video for the single, she appeared alongside other girls from ‘Playgirl Gang,’ a group she had formed with her friends.

Although she was becoming popular locally, she got her real breakthrough in 2017, when she released a mixtape titled ‘Bali’s Play 2.’ The tape became tremendously successful. Released in June 2017, the album had a single titled ‘3500,’ which also featured a popular rapper named Lotto Savage.

Bali also became popular on ‘YouTube’ by releasing more mixtapes, such as ‘Merry Bhristmas’ and ‘Brazy Bali.’

Her single ‘Enemies’ crossed the million mark on ‘YouTube.’ Some of her other successful singles were ‘Banana Clip’ and ‘Coupe.’

She has also appeared in other rappers’ singles. She collaborated with Kay the Yacht for his single ‘Wanted Love,’ with Sir’Shahly for the single ‘Running Man,’ and with Guala da Gawd for his single ‘Harley Quinn.’

In 2018, she released the successful singles ‘AMBER Alert’ and ‘Miley Cyrus.’

The same year, she released more successful mixtapes, such as ‘Resurrection.’ In 2019, she came out with albums such as ‘Brazy Bali 2’ and ‘Bubbles Bali 2.’

In May 2018, she released her debut studio album, ‘Baylor Swift.’ However, while she gained fame through rap music, her debut studio album was quite different in terms of its music. It featured a rock-centric collection of songs and had more distorted sounds. She was praised for experimenting with her music at such a crucial stage of her career.

Bali Baby is an openly bisexual young woman. However, she keeps her private life away from the media. Thus, apart from rumors, there has been no concrete news about any of her relationships.

British magazine ‘i-D’ recognized her as one of the few openly gay female rappers. ‘LA Weekly’ named her “the hottest female rap artist to come out of Atlanta” in March 2018.

She once said that she preferred working with talented women over talented men. This comment sparked a little controversy.

She was in jail for a month in 2016, due to violation of probation. Musician 2 Chainz was trying to get in touch with her at that time.
