Who is Annet Mahendru?
Annet Mahendru is an Indian-American actress, best known for her portrayal of Nina Sergeevna Krilova on FX’s drama series ‘The Americans’ that earned her a Critics' Choice Television Award nomination. Born to a Hindu Indian journalist and a Russian businesswoman, she spent her early years travelling across multiple places, including Europe, Afghanistan and Russia. Mahendru studied at East Meadow High School, eventually graduating in 2004. She then went on to attend St. John's University in New York City. Although passionate about acting and dance, she opted to attend NYU to earn a master's degree. However, she later dropped out to pursue her dream career. Since 2006, Mahendru has appeared in several TV shows and films, and has earned a reputation her brilliant acting skills. The gorgeous actress is multilingual; she knows several languages, including French, Hindi, Russian, English, German, and Persian.
Annet Mahendru started her acting career in 2006, featuring in an episode each of the TV series 'Love Monkey' and 'Conviction.' That year, she also appeared in a short film titled 'The Art of Love'. This was followed by a guest appearance in the drama ‘Entourage’. After starring in many films and short films including ‘El Padrino 2’, the actress had a voice role in ‘Torchwood: Web of Lies'.
In 2012, Mahendru appeared in a guest role in an episode titled "The Honeymoon is Over" of the series ‘Mike & Molly’. A year later, she was cast as Nina Sergeevna in ‘The Americans’, a series about two Soviet KGB officials posing as a married couple living in USA. Also in 2013, she featured in two episodes of 'The Blacklist' as well as in the science fantasy horror ‘Escape from Tomorrow’.
The year 2014 saw Mahendru in the role of Kelly Jones in the film ‘Bridge and Tunnel. That year, she also featured in the short film ‘Smokey Eyes’. She also lent her voice to the character of Eva in the animated spy action flick ‘Penguins of Madagascar’. Then in 2015, the actress starred in a few episodes of the sitcom ‘The Following’. A year later, she played Nafisa Al-Qadi in the political drama ‘Tyrant’. This was followed by her voice role in two episodes of ‘Neo Yokio’ in 2017.
In 2018, Mahendru appeared in an episode of the action comedy-drama series ‘Lethal Weapon’. The same year, she played Layla Khudari in the episode titled "End of the Line" in the TV series ‘The Romanoffs’. The anthology drama web TV series also starred many other actors, including John Slattery, Louise Bourgoin, JJ Field, Diane Lane and Aaron Eckhart.

Annet Mahendru was born as Anita Devi Mahendru on August 21, 1989, in Kabul, Afghanistan. Her father, Ghanshan Mahendru, is an Indian journalist, while her mother, Olga, is a Russian artist and businesswoman. She studied at East Meadow High School and later graduated from St. John's University. Mahendru was also enrolled at the prestigious New York University for a master's degree. She, however, dropped out to pursue her acting career. She eventually moved to Los Angeles and joined The Groundlings, a sketch comedy troupe.
