Alison King is an English actress known for her roles in the television series ‘Dream Team’ and ‘Coronation Street’. Born and raised in Leicestershire, England, she had an interest in pursuing acting from childhood. She attended drama classes in college and then went on to pursue further training at the North Cheshire Theatre School. She began her acting career with roles in a few television series and later ventured into feature films. Her portrayal of Carla Connor in the series ‘Coronation Street’ earned her several nominations for Best Actress at the British Soap Awards, out of which she won one. Apart from acting, she has also explored modelling and has been the brand ambassador of various brands like Boddingtons beer and Daz laundry detergent among others.

Alison King started her career with the role of ‘Helen’ in two episodes of the television series ‘Brookside’, while she was pursuing her studies at the North Cheshire Theatre School. In 1997, she got her first major role in Sky One's television series ‘Dream Team’ that started airing from 1998. She played the role for four years before taking a break and returning to the show after a year.
Between the year 2000 and 2005, she worked in supporting roles in various feature films, mostly in the action genre. These films include ‘Shanghai Knights’ (2003) and ‘Submerged’ (2005). A few prominent television series that have featured Alison King in guest appearances are ‘Coupling’ (2001), ‘Holby City’ (2003), and ‘Mile High’ (2005).
In 2006, she was cast as Carla Connor in the soap opera ‘Coronation Street’. She had a recurring role in the series and has received much appreciation from the critics and viewers alike for the role. In 2015, she announced a temporary break from her role in the television series. In 2017, she returned to reprise the role of Carla Connor and is currently part of the series.
She has acted in noteworthy roles in the feature films ‘Save Angel Hope’ (2007) and ‘Back in Business’ (2007).

Alison King was born on 3rd March 1973, in Leicester, England to Alex and June King. She is the youngest of their four children, and has two sisters and a brother. She spent her early childhood at the family home at Leicestershire, where she attended the Markfield Mercenfeld Primary School. It was when she started attending the South Charnwood High School that she grew interested in acting. This passion continued throughout her student life and she received training in dramatics while attending Groby Community College, Leicestershire.
When she turned 18, she moved to Cornwall where she worked at the Fat Willys Surf Shack. During her free time, she used to surf. She also practiced as a dental nurse for four years. At the age of 22, she joined the North Cheshire Theatre School.
Alison King had been in a relationship with actor Philip Middlemiss for five years. In 2006, she got engaged to actor Jim Alexander; however, the engagement did not last long and the couple parted ways the following year. In 2007, she began a relationship with sound technician Adam Huckett. The couple had a daughter on 11th February 2009. They got engaged in September 2011. However, as per reports, the couple split in 2012. In 2016, she was reported to be dating ‘Hollyoaks’ assistant director Paul Slavin. In 2019, Alison King got engaged to David Stuckley.
Alison King is an ardent supporter of the football club Liverpool FC.
