Adam Perkins was an American social media personality, Vine star, musician, and composer. He is best remembered for posting comical videos on the now-defunct social networking short-form video hosting service, Vine. He achieved tremendous popularity for his Welcome to Chili’s video, which went viral on the internet. Apart from being a social media personality, Perkins was also a musician whose extended play (EP) I Am Away From Home was recorded from the comfort of his bedroom at his home in Maine. Adam Perkins died on April 11, 2021 due to unknown causes. Adam Perkins was born on March 17, 1997 in Boston, Massachusetts, United States of America. He was raised in California along with his twin brother Patrick. His father, Lars, is an entrepreneur, while his mother, Susan, is an actress. In 2004, his father sold photography-related software to Google.
After graduating from high school, Adam Perkins went on to attend New York University from where he graduated with a musical composition degree. He lived in Philadelphia for a brief period of time before returning to Los Angeles. He started posting videos on social media platforms in 2014. He achieved popularity the following year when one of his videos titled Hi, welcome to Chili’s went viral on the internet. His popularity increased when he started using the hashtag #whiteteen on regular basis.
Apart from being a Vine star, Adam Perkins was also popular on other social media platforms, such as Instagram and TikTok. He came up with his first musical album titled Latch Relay in 2018. After his tragic demise, his brother announced that Latch Relay will be released on limited edition vinyl. He also promised that he will continue to work to fulfill his brother’s musical destiny.
Adam Perkins achieved popularity in 2015 when his Welcome to Chili’s video went viral. The video, which was intended to make fun of the popular American restaurant chain Chili’s, had gathered more than 20 million views in 2015. Subsequently, he started accumulating followers on Vine where he managed to gather more than 290K followers before the service was shut down. On TikTok, where he posted comical videos, Adam Perkins had managed to accumulate more than 40k fans and over 240K likes. He was also popular on other social media platforms like Instagram where he had more than 65k followers.
Adam Perkins was close to his brother and loved spending time with him. He featured his brother in many of his comical videos. He also enjoyed spending time in his family’s property on the west coast in Maine and in Los Angeles.
Adam Perkins was found dead in his family’s property, which was later visited by police officers from the LAPD’s West L.A. branch. The County Coroner’s office confirmed his death but did not reveal the cause of his death. His brother Patrick Perkins took to his Instagram page to confirm his brother’s untimely demise. Interestingly, Patrick too did not reveal the cause of his brother’s death and requested his fans and followers not to question about the cause of Adam’s death. He went on to say that he does not want to reveal the cause of his brother’s untimely death, which has caused major concerns among Adam Perkins’s followers on social media. Right after the announcement, condolences poured in from fellow social media stars and fans.
