One half of the popular musical duo The Carpenters, Karen Carpenter was an American drummer and singer. Her death at age 32 and life-long struggles with eating disorders led to increased awareness of conditions like anorexia and body dysmorphia, which were little-known at the time. In 2010, Carpenter was named on Rolling Stone's 100 greatest singers of all time list.

Don Francks was a Canadian actor, singer, and musician. He is best remembered for his portrayal of David Brook in the 1980 TV series, The Phoenix Team, which earned him the ACTRA Award for Best Dramatic Performance in 1981. Don Francks was also a voice actor; apart from voicing TV characters, Francks also voiced the popular video game character, Sabretooth.

Zakir Hussain is an Indian musician, tabla virtuoso, percussionist, composer, and music producer. Widely regarded as one of the greatest tabla players of all time, Hussain has received many prestigious awards in his illustrious career. In 1990, he was honored with the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award. In 2002, he was awarded the Padma Bhushan, India's third-highest civilian award.

Derek Longmuir is a Scottish retired drummer. He is best known for co-founding the pop rock band, Bay City Rollers. Longmuir retired from music in the 1980s and started training as a nurse. He then went on to work at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. In 2000, Longmuir pleaded guilty for possessing child pornography and was sentenced to 300 hours' community service.

Stony Blyden is an Icelandic rapper, singer, actor, drummer, and record producer. He is best known for his portrayal of Stony in the 2018 American coming-of-age comedy-drama film, Dude. Stony Blyden also played an important role in the 2020 American romantic drama film, Life in a Year.

Initially known as the drummer and backing singer for the Soviet cult rock band Kino, Georgy Guryanov later also joined Timur Novikov’s non-conformist group The New Artists. He didn’t just create innovative music for Kino but was also known as a style icon, playing the drums almost half-naked.

Lloyd Knibb was a Jamaican drummer and master percussionist best remembered for his contributions to every style of Jamaica's popular and unpopular musical forms, including nyabinghi, jazz, rock steady, and reggae. He is also remembered for playing an important role in the development of ska. Lloyd Knibb is widely regarded as the most influential and important modern drummer in Jamaica.
