Jason Bateman is an American actor, director, and producer who started his television career playing James Cooper on the western-drama series 'Little House on the Prairie' (1981-82). Throughout the decade, he appeared on several other television series such as 'Silver Spoons' (1982-84), 'It's Your Move' (1984-85), and 'The Hogan Family' (1986-91), and riding on his television success, made his film debut with 'Teen Wolf Too' (1987), which was a critical failure.
He continued to work on many feature films and made-for-television movies, including 'This Can't Be Love' (1994), and appeared on four short lived television series: 'Simon' (1995-96), 'Chicago Sons' (1997), 'George & Leo' (1997-98), and 'Some of My Best Friends' (2001). In 2003, he got his breakthrough role as Michael Bluth in the comedy series 'Arrested Development'. While the series failed to achieve high ratings despite critical acclaim, it was one of his best roles and earned him a 'Golden Globe Award' and an 'Emmy' nomination.
