Willie Garson was a well-known American actor,  best known for playing Stanford Blatch on the HBO series Sex and the City. He  appeared in over seventy films and 300 television series, usually playing minor roles. Some of his prominent movies are Troop Beverly Hills, Brain Dead, Across the Tracks, Mobsters, When the Party's Over, Speechless, Mars Attacks, Our Lips Are Sealed, Freaky Friday and Walk of Shame. Willie Garson is remembered for appearing as Stanford Blatch on the popular TV series Sex and the City and as Mozzie on USA Network’s White Collar. He was also known for performing in Ask Harriet and John from Cincinnati. Garson guest-starred in numerous television programs, including My Two Dads, Chicken Soup, Twin Peaks, Flying Blind, Mad About You, Touched by an Angel, City of Angels, Friends, CSI: Miami, Pushing Daisies, and Scandal. In addition, he performed with a number of theater companies, including the Manhattan Theatre Club and Naked Angels.

Career

Willie Garson first appeared in the 1986 movie The Deliberate Stranger. He also appeared in the 1986 TV show Family Ties. During that time, he also started playing the role of Mr. Whorley in Newhart and of Carl in Mr. Belvedere. After this, the actor did the movie Troop Beverly Hills. From 1990 to 1995, Willie Garson appeared in numerous films, including Brain Dead, Across the Tracks, Ruby, Mobsters, Untamed Heart, Daybreak, Speechless and The Tie That Binds.

In addition to films, Willie Garson also guest-starred in TV shows Twin Peaks, Thirtysomething, Flying Blind, Renegade, MADtv, Mad About You and The X-Files. After this, Garson had a role in the drama NYPD Blue. He then appeared in two episodes in each of Melrose Place and Ally McBeal. In 1998, he was cast as Stanford Blatch in Sex and the City.

From 2000 to 2009, Willie Garson featured in TV shows Spin City, Going to California, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Monk, CSI: Miami, John from Cincinnati, Pushing Daisies and White Collar. During this time, he also did numerous films, including Our Lips Are Sealed, Freaky Friday, House of D, The TV Set, Zoom and Labor Pains.

Post 2010, Willie Garson appeared in the 2012 flick Periods. In 2014, he appeared as Dan Karlin in Walk of Shame. A year later, he had a recurring role in Hawaii Five-0. Then in 2017, he featured in the movie The Polka King as well as in the drama Scandal.

Willie Garson lent his voice to “Big Mouth” and had a recurring role on Supergirl, from 2019 to 2020.

Willie Garson was born William Garson Paszamant on February 20, 1964, in Highland Park, New Jersey, USA, to Muriel Paszamant and Donald M. Paszamant. He attended Camp Wekeela and Highland Park High School. In 1985, he got a theater degree from the Wesleyan University. Garson also attended the David Geffen School of Drama at Yale University.

In 2009, he adopted his son, Nathen, who was seven years old at that time. Garson was associated with several charities, including Joslin Diabetes Camp, Habitat for Humanity, Young Artists United, Big Brothers, and Screen Actors Guild Bookpals. Information regarding his dating and married life is not known to the media.
