Tahmoh Penikett is a Canadian actor who is known for his portrayal of Karl Agathon on the TV series ‘Battlestar Galactica’. He has also appeared in other TV shows such as ‘Supernatural’, and ‘Dollhouse’. Penikett was born in Canada. He is the son of a former politician named Tony Penikett. Before he started his acting career, he studied at Lyric School of Acting in Vancouver. He made his TV debut in the 1996 television movie ‘Murder on the Iditarod Trail’, after which he played guest roles in TV shows such as ‘24’ and ‘Dark Angel’. He became famous after he started playing Karl Agathon in the military science fiction series ‘Battlestar Galactica’. He has also played recurring roles in the sci-fi series ‘Dollhouse’, as well as few other shows such as ‘Mortal Kombat: Legacy’ and ‘Supernatural’. Penikett is also skilled in judo, as well as Muay Thai, and has shown off his abilities in ‘Battlestar Galactica’ as well as ‘Dollhouse’. Tahmoh Penikett was born on 20 May 1975, in Whitehorse, Yukon, in Canada. His father was a well-known politician named Tony John Penikett. His mother’s name is Lulla. He had two siblings Stephanie and Sarah. He studied at the Victoria Motion Picture School, as well as the Lyric School of Acting in Vancouver.

Career
Tahmoh Penikett began his TV career with a supporting role in the TV movie ‘Murder on the Iditarod Trail’. He also played supporting roles in few TV shows such as ‘24’, ‘Dark Angel’, and ‘Smallville’.
In 2004, he starred in ‘Battlestar Galactica’, a military science fiction series playing the role of Karl Agathon. He continued playing his role till the show ended in 2009. The show has received huge appreciation from critics as well as audience. It has also been listed by Time in its list of ‘100 Best TV shows of all-time’.
Between 2004 and 2005, he had a recurring role in the last season of the Canadian police procedural show ‘Cold Squad’. He portrayed a character named Ray Chase. Set in a distant star system, the series revolves around a civilization of humans who live on a group of planets called the Twelve Colonies. The series aired for four seasons, and has gained a lot of popularity as well as appreciation. It has also received several awards and nominations.
Penikett has appeared in very few feature films. One of his well-known films is ‘Trick ‘r Treat’, where he had a supporting role. Directed by Michael Dougherty, the film is a horror anthology with four different stories sharing a common element. The film received mixed to positive reviews. It also won the Audience Choice Award at the Screamfest Horror Film Festival and the Silver Audience Award at the Toronto After Dark Film Festival.
Another important work in Tahmoh Penikett’s career is his recurring role in the science fiction TV series ‘Dollhouse’. Though the first season was met with mixed reviews, the ratings somewhat improved and it was renewed for a second season. However, it was cancelled after only two seasons. Penikett played Paul Ballard, a former FBI agent.
