Ryan James Eggold is an American actor, who is best known for portraying the character of Ryan Matthews in ‘90210’, a CW teen drama series. After completing his college, Eggold landed a guest role in The WB’s American comedy-drama series, ‘Related’. Henceforth, he appeared either in guest roles or recurring roles on shows such as ‘Veronica Mars’, ‘The Young and the Restless’, and ‘Entourage’, before becoming a series regular in ‘90210’. Apart from his career in acting, he is inclined towards music – he is part of a band named ‘Eleanor Avenue’, He writes songs, plays guitar, and sings for the band, which covers ‘Bjork’, ‘Kraftwerk’, and ‘Village People’. Eggold has also appeared in films. He made his debut with Brandon Bennett-directed ‘Con: The Corruption of Shawn Helm’, where he played Shawn Helm.

Ryan Eggold made his acting debut in 2006 after completing his college with a guest role in The WB’s series, ‘Related’. In the same year, he made his debut in movies with the film, ‘Con: The Corruption of Shawn Helm’ starring Amy Bloom, Lauren Bennett, among others.
Apart from ‘The Young and Restless’, he has made other appearances in small roles. He appeared in the episode titled ‘Family Portrait’ in the drama series, ‘Brothers & Sisters’. He was also in ‘Veronica Mars’, a mystery drama series, where he was a part of the episode ‘Charlie Don't Surf’.

In 2018, Ryan Eggold landed his first-ever lead role in NBC’s medical drama television series, ‘New Amsterdam’. He plays the role of Dr. Max Goodwin in the series, which is based on Eric Manheimer’s book ‘Twelve Patients: Life and Death at Bellevue Hospital’.
Apart from his career on the TV, Eggold has also acted in several films, including critically-acclaimed ‘BlacKkKlansman’, ‘The Single Moms Club’, ‘Into the Dark’, and ‘Lovesong’, among others. Also, the actor has performed on the stage. He made his theatre debut in 2006 with ‘Dead End’, an Ahmanson Theatre/Center Theatre Group production. He has acted in ‘Marat/Sade’ and ‘Amy and Elliot’. Ryan Eggold was born on August 10, 1984, in Lakewood, California, He is the only son of Karen Benik and James Frederick Eggold. He holds American nationality. While his father is of German descent, his mother is half Austrian and half Croatian.
Eggold completed his graduation in 2002 from Santa Margarita Catholic High School. He was an active participant in plays at the school theatre. Later, he joined the theater arts department of the University of Southern California and finished his graduation in 2006.
Currently, Eggold has not confirmed if he is dating anyone or not. He was reportedly seeing actress Haley Bennett in 2009. After two years of relationship, the couple broke it off.
