Rumer Glenn Willis, also known as Rue, is an American actress and singer, best known for winning the 20th season of the television reality show ‘Dancing with the Stars’. She is the eldest daughter of Hollywood actors, Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, who have supported her acting career that began at the age of five. Due to her busy schedule on account of involvement in movies and television serials at an early age, she had to drop out of University after the first semester. However, this did not come in the way of her overall development as she took her career as a learning experience on how to deal with real life situations and people. She started her career with minor roles alongside her parents and went on to become a celebrity in her own right. She is a versatile actress who has appeared in varied roles, ranging from comedy and love stories to horror movies. As recognition of her talent she was named ‘Miss Golden Globe’ when she was twenty, which made her an established name in Hollywood. She is active on social media with a large fan following.

Rumer Willis was born on August 16, 1988, in Paducah, Kentucky, USA, to Bruce Willis and Demi Moore. Her father was away shooting for a film when she was born so her mother hired a cameraman to film the event and make a video for her father to see. She was named after her patents favourite author, Rumer Godden.

She is the eldest child of her parents and has two younger sisters named Scout LaRue and Tallulah Belle. She also has two younger paternal half – sisters named Mable Ray and Evelyn Penn.

Her father, Bruce Willis is a famous actor, producer and singer and her mother, Demi Moore is an actress, songwriter and model. Her parents divorced after thirteen years of marriage and went their own ways. However, they both remained attached to their children and made public appearances together.

She was brought up in Hailey Idaho with her two sisters, where she did her primary schooling. She enrolled as a sophomore in Wildwood Secondary School in Los Angeles, California and went on to join Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan. She also attended the first semester of her degree course at the University of Southern California, but later dropped out to pursue her career in acting.

At the age of 5 she made her debut alongside her mother in the film ‘Now and Then’. The following year she appeared in the movie ‘Striptease’. Before she was twenty, she also acted alongside her father in two movies titled ‘The Whole Nine Yards’ and ‘Hostage’. These exposures to show business convinced her to make acting her full time career.

Career
In 2008, she took on a job as a spokesperson for the apparel company, Ocean Pacific. The same year she was also featured in the comedy ‘The House of Bunny’ and the horror movie, ‘From Within’. Her performances received positive reviews.
The following year she co-starred in the movies ‘Sorority Row’ and ‘Wild Cherry’ along with Tania Raymond and Kristin Cavallari. In 2013, she appeared as Maya in the film ‘The Odd Way Home’. By then she was a known name in Hollywood.
She went on to make a number of guest appearances on television serials that include ‘Miss Guided’, ‘Army Wives’, ‘CSI: NY, ‘The Secret Life of the American Teenager’ ‘Hawaii Five – 0’ and ‘Workaholics’.

In 2013, she portrayed Zoe in the fourth season on ‘Pretty Little Liars’ and in 2015, she made her Broadway debut as Roxie in ‘Chicago’. This was followed by her appearance in season 3 of FOX’s musical – drama, ‘Empire’. She was now a celebrity in her own right.

She competed in season 20 of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ with her partner, Valentin Chmerkovskiy. She was awarded the highest score of the night for her performance in the first week and two perfect scores in week 8 of the show. Willis and her partner were crowned the season’s champions and participated in the 40 city ‘Dancing with the Stars: Perfect 10 Tour’ during the summer of 2015.

Her parents wanted her to complete her education and do a degree. At the same time they encouraged her to pursue a career in acting. As a result, her busy schedule came in the way of her studies.
She once thought of studying medicine and was interested in human psychology, but then she realised that one got to learn a lot about people as an actor and decided to take up acting as a profession instead.
She has a very close resemblance to her mother’s looks that has gone in her favour as an actress. She also has traces of her father’s looks in her face that makes her all the attractive.
