Childhood & Early Life

Oleksandra Nikolayenko was born in Budapest, Hungary on 3rd July, 1982 to an economist mother and an army officer father. She has an elder sister, whom she considers her best friend.

Oleksandra explored her passion for modelling early in her life and she dedicated herself to healthy eating and exercising in order to prepare herself for the future as an international beauty queen.

Career

She earlier wanted to have a career in Law and enrolled herself into the Odessa National Law Academy, devoting herself to studies. She had prepared all her life for that but sometime during her college, her hidden desire to become a top fashion model struck, and she walked into Savrox Model Agency located in Odessa, and started working as a part time model.

She mentioned that she did modelling earlier just for some extra pocket money but some deep hidden desire pushed her to pursue modelling full time and finally, the fate intervened and she started gaining all the right attention at the tender age of 15.

Oleksandra began participating in beauty contests and started gaining the right experience and guidance. Her hard work and dedication paved her path to success, and before too long, she was graced with titles such as ‘Miss Ukraine’, ‘Miss Student’, ‘Miss Ukraine South’, ‘Miss Odessa’, Miss American Dream’ and ‘Miss Tourism International’. She became one of the most recognizable faces in Ukraine.

Her biggest claim to fame arrived in 2001, when she was selected to represent Ukraine in the Miss World Content. She performed well and ended up in the top-ten list while competing with the most beautiful women in the world. She didn’t take the defeat to heart and kept working to constantly make herself better.

Couple of years later, she was entitled with ‘Miss Ukraine Universe’ title in 2004, which meant that she would represent her home country in the Miss Universe content, which took place the same year in Ecuador. She didn’t earn the title but was recognized enough to get some lucrative modelling assignments in USA, which would prove to be a fresh stepping stone in her career.

She was eventually invited as one of the chief guests for the Miss Universe 2005 in Thailand. Oleksandra met, fell in love with Phil Ruffin and walked into the marital bond with him, and almost said good bye to her modelling and beauty pageant career.

Ever since her marriage, Oleksandra has been partly handling her husband’s vast business empire and she also works towards rehabilitation of sex workers in her home country. She designed a spa and saloon in her husband’s Hotel and presently works as the National Director Chairman of Miss Ukraine Universe.

As of now, Oleksandra has won 13 beauty contests and holds 16 titles in total. At the much coveted ‘Miss World Tourism’ title, she was also honoured with the ‘Audience Sympathy Price’. She also became the recipient of ‘Miss Negombo’ title and was adorned with a crown made of Sri Lankan precious stones.

Personal Life

Oleksandra Married Phil Rubin in 2008 in a grand ceremony and mothered his two children, Richard William Ruffin and Malena. She has openly admitted that she has no problems with his husband’s age (72 at the time of marriage) and that true love is beyond all these things.

Oleksandra is great friends with American president Donald Trump and the rumours say that he was the one who introduced Oleksandra to Phil, who also happens to be one of his good friends.

Oleksandra got a very lucrative offer from Playboy to feature on their cover, but she refused. She stated the reason to be her morals which wouldn’t allow her to be photographed naked.

She is quite fond of travelling and has stated that Sri Lanka is one of her most favourite tourism locations.

Facts

Although mostly a natural beauty, Oleksandra did have a minor plastic surgery done while she was a child. Her upper lip was deformed due to a minor accident and she had to undergo a surgery to get it fixed.

Oleksandra is a fond of dogs and says that it is very hard for her to go a whole day without petting her Rottweiler, named Michigan.
