Nick Gehlfuss Biography

Nick Gehlfuss is an American actor, best recognized for playing the recurring role of ‘Robbie Pratt’ in the ‘Showtime’ series ‘Shameless’ and the lead role of ‘Dr. Will Halstead’ in the ‘NBC’ series ‘Chicago Med.’ Gehlfuss debuted on stage with a production of ‘Midsummer Night's Dream’ by ‘Classic Stage Company’ in New York. He won the ‘Rosemarie Tichler’ award for his performance. He later performed in the play ‘Reasons to Be Pretty.’ Over the years, Gehlfuss has featured in recurring roles in several series, such as ‘The Newsroom,’ ‘Shameless,’ and ‘Longmire.’ His recurring character of ‘Dr. Will Halstead’ from the series ‘Chicago P.D.’ and ‘Chicago Fire’ was featured as a lead character in the medical drama ‘Chicago Med.’ In the course of his career, Gehlfuss has also appeared in films such as ‘Sam Steele and the Junior Detective Agency’ (voice),’ Love & Mercy,’ and ‘Equity.’ He will be seen in the upcoming biographical drama film ‘Butterfly in the Typewriter.’
