He is also known for his performances in the films ‘Murder by Numbers’, ‘The Dreamers’, ‘Funny Games’ and ‘The Village’. As a musician, Pitt has played the guitar in the band Pagoda. Michael Pitt’s television debut was in a 1997 episode of ‘Dellaventura’. In 1999, he made his Off-Broadway debut when he appeared in a play titled ‘The Trestle’ at the New York Theatre Workshop.
In 1999 and 2000, he played Henry Parker in the teen drama ‘Dawson's Creek’. After this, he was cast as Jimmy Darmody in the period crime drama series ‘Boardwalk Empire’.
