Michael Holt, who is popularly known as 'Molt' on social media, is an American full-time YouTuber, as well as a part-time graphics designer. He initially gained popularity for his gameplay videos and tutorials on games like 'Clash of Clans' and 'Clash Royale' on his gaming channel 'GAMINGwithMOLT', even though he later began creating content for other mobile games as well. He also has a secondary gaming channel, 'MoltPlays', in which he mostly plays Xbox games like 'OverWatch' and 'Call of Duty'. He recently shifted his vlogging channel from 'Michael Holt' to a new one called 'The Holts' due to technical issues, and posts daily videos with his wife, Rachel. He often collaborates with other YouTube gamers like 'nickatnyte', 'Orange Juice Gaming' and 'Chief Pat', and also does sponsored videos for new and upcoming games. He has a sponsorship deal with G FUEL energy drinks. Alongside his YouTube career, he is also serving as the Head of Graphic Design at Pinckney Marketing since May 2011. His job responsibilities include hiring and managing a small team of graphic designers. He had a crucial role in the designing of an 'Addy Award' winning advertisement.
Rise to Stardom
Michael Holt studied broadcast journalism with the goal of becoming a news anchor or sports announcer. However, he eventually found job as a graphic designer for Pinckney Marketing Inc in Charlotte, North Carolina Area, after completing college with a major in visual communications. After working in the field for a couple years, he posted his first YouTube video, a gameplay commentary on the mobile game 'Clash of Clans', on his channel 'GAMINGwithMOLT' in May 2013. Looking back, he now feels that the video sounded like that of a nervous child, but his early videos managed to get views at a steady rate. He was glad to be able to combine his graphic designing and commentating skills, which made his videos enjoyable to fans.
By July 2014, he had amassed enough subscribers to his YouTube channel to make YouTube his fulltime job, keeping freelance graphic designing as a side job. His channel has seen a surge in subscribers since March 2016, after he began making videos on 'Clash Royale', the new game released by Supercell, the company that had created 'Clash of Clans'. While he had gained popularity among 'Clash of Clans' players through his videos, he was one of the earliest YouTubers to provide quality videos on the new game. He currently has over 2.6 million subscribers to his primary YouTube channel, 'GAMINGwithMOLT', as well as 222k subscribers on his secondary gaming channel 'MoltPlays' and 107k subscribers on his old vlogging channel, 'Michael Holt'.

For Michael Holt, who had a near death experience in his student years that drastically changed the course of his life later on, it has been a memorable journey from "the quiet, short introverted guy to the popular, super confident one". While studying in school, he dreamed of becoming a baseball player. However, that dream was crushed after he had an accident just before his freshman year in college. He was rope swinging when his left arm became tangled in the rope mid-air. He was seriously injured and would have died from bleeding if the injury had been worse. The incident cost him his career in sports, affected his confidence severely, as well as his spirituality. He was brought up in a Christian family and his father persistently encouraged him not to lose faith. He eventually regained strength after two years and began a new life.
Michael Holt was born on July 29, 1987 in Columbia, South Carolina, but was raised in Texas where the family moved to when he was in the 5th grade. He attended Western Carolina University for a year in 2006-07 but later enrolled into University of South Carolina-Columbia, from where he completed his BS degree in Design and Visual Communications in 2010. He worked as an intern at the University of South Carolina Media Relations Department from August 2008 to May 2011. During this time, he also served as a Student Assistant at the university's Athletic Media Relations section. He is also a Young Life leader and teaches high school students about Jesus.
He got married to his fiancée Rachel, whom he met over an app, on June 3rd, 2018. They began the series 'A Year in Marriage' the same day to vlog about their married life each day for one year on their vlogging channel. The couple has two pups named Lucy and Millie.
He was previously in a relationship with a girl named Lindsey in mid-2015 and with another girl named Liz in mid-2016. He used to post videos with them on his vlogging channel, but deleted all his previous videos both times after breakup.
