Rise to Stardom
Martyn Ford was always interested in fitness training and began exercising at the age of 11. He then channeled his enthusiasm towards a career in sports and joined the Warwickshire cricket team as a bowler when he was a teenager. He dreamed of becoming an international cricketer representing the English national team one day. However, he suffered a serious injury at the age of 19 that shattered his dreams of playing professional cricket. The injury was followed by a severe case of glandular fever which took nearly a year for him to recover from, a period that was crucial for advancing his career in cricket.
With his career dreams crushed, he fell into a deep depression which, combined with lack of training, adversely affected his body by making him lose weight rapidly. During this time, he determined to pull himself out of his skinny frame by exercising regularly. While initially he only wanted to get back in shape and gain the weight he had lost, he soon found out that fitness training could fill up the void left by the untimely end of his cricketing dreams. It gave him a sense of achievement to be able to rebuild his body and gain control over it. As a result, even after achieving his primary goal, he kept on going for years to come, and 12 stone later, he is still continuing.
His hard work has all paid up in the end as he not only has made a name for himself in the field of weight training, but has also become a star with several films in his kitty and three businesses under his name. He is now focused on staying in good shape for his upcoming film opportunities. Interestingly, at 6 feet and 8 inches, he is just one inch shorter than Hafþór Björnsson, who plays The Mountain in the HBO television series 'Game of Thrones'.

In fact, to keep his current figure, he has to eat every hour – primarily "chicken, fish, egg whites, oats, brown rice, potatoes, loads of veg" and "lots of water" – costing about £250 on food each week. He doesn't drink and as such avoids going to parties, but attends dinners with his friends. He works out for about an hour four times each week, and also does MMA training twice a week. He did not stop at training merely; after building his formidable figure, he went back to university to study sports science, including personal training and nutrition courses. He then established his own gym, Beta Bodz, in Minworth.
