Maggie Lawson began her career at the age of eight, initially performing in theatrical productions. She later moved to Los Angeles for her first television pilot at 15. In 1996 and 1997, she starred in the dramas ‘Unhappily Ever After’ and ‘Cybill’. Soon after this, she was cast in the theatrical film ‘Pleasantville’ which also starred Tobey Maguire, Joan Allen, Jeff Daniels, William H. Macy, Reese Witherspoon and J. T. Walsh. In 1999, the actress had a recurring role in the family drama ‘Party of Five’. That year, she also played Hope Harrison in six episodes of ‘Family Rules’.

Following an appearance in the TV film ‘Model Behavior’, Maggie Lawson joined the cast of ‘Inside Schwartz’ as Eve in 2001. Around this time, she also played the titular role in the made-for-television movie ‘Nancy Drew’. From 2003 to 2004, she was featured as Liz Stoddard-Banks in ‘It's All Relative’, a series about two families, one lower-class and the other an upper-class headed by a gay couple, who reluctantly come together as a family when their kids get engaged.

In the year 2006, Lawson played a series regular in ‘Crumbs’. That year, she also joined the cast of ‘Psych’ as Juliet O'Hara, a role she played until 2014. During this time, she appeared in the theatrical production of James Roday’s ‘Greedy’ as well as in the sitcom ‘Back in the Game’. In 2014, the actress starred as Ms. McMartin in the series ‘Two and a Half Men’. This was followed by her role in the series ‘Angel from Hell’.

Lawson next appeared in the drama series ‘The Great Indoors’, ‘The Ranch’ and ‘Santa Clarita Diet’. She joined the team of the buddy cop action drama series ‘Lethal Weapon’ in 2018.

Maggie Lawson was born on August 12, 1980 in Louisville, Kentucky, USA, to Judy and Mike Lawson. She studied at St. Stephen Martyr School and later attended Assumption High School.

From 2006 to 2013, she was in a relationship with actor James Roday. In 2014, the actress got engaged to actor Ben Koldyke. The couple married a year later. However, they separated in early 2017.

Lawson is an animal lover and a co-founder of the Los Angeles-based animal rescue organization called the Tiger Frances Foundation.
