Maceo Robert Martinez Biography

Halle and Olivier exchanged wedding vows on July 13, 2013. The wedding ceremony was held in France. By then, Halle was already pregnant with Maceo. A few months after the wedding, she gave birth to her first child with Olivier.

Maceo was born Maceo Robert Martinez, on October 5, 2013, in Los Angeles California. The name "Maceo" is of Spanish origin and means the “gift of God.” Shortly after his birth, around March 2014, rumors of his parents’ separation began surfacing. Halle was then still amidst the custody battle that she had been fighting for her daughter with her former partner, model Gabriel Aubry. Maceo’s half-sister, Nahla Ariela Aubry, is the first-born child of Halle and Gabriel.

Halle and Olivier settled their divorce on December 29, 2016. They had announced their separation in 2015, and Halle had requested the court to finalize the divorce latest by January 1, 2017. She cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the divorce.

Unlike her previous custody battle, Maceo’s custody proceedings were relatively more peaceful. Halle and Olivier now have joint legal and physical custody of Maceo. This legal battle was mostly kept away from the media spotlight. Halle and Olivier even went on a vacation with Maceo after announcing their divorce.

Following her divorce from Olivier, Halle was rumored to be in a relationship with British record producer and songwriter Alex da Kid. However, neither of them has confirmed the rumor yet.

Halle once posted a picture of Maceo from their Bora Bora vacation. The images received numerous comments stating that he had facial features similar to his mother’s. Maceo also spends time with Nahla, and they get along well. In 2019, on Today Show, Halle answered why she doesn’t share photos of her children on social media. According to the Oscar winner, she wants to keep her children’s privacy intact and believes it should be their decision as to when and how they want to appear on social media. She takes the subject of her children’s privacy very seriously and, understandably, is quite cautious of what she shares on the internet when it comes to her kids.
