Lisa Ann Walter is an American actress known for her performance in the movie ‘The Parent Trap’. She is also a film producer, writer and a standup comedian. She began her onstage career as a standup comedian doing numerous shows in and around New York. Her first onscreen appearance was in the TV show ‘My Wildest Dreams’. Following her debut series, she appeared in numerous movies and TV series, including a series of her own creation, ‘Life’s Work’. She also wrote a comic memoir "The Best Thing About My Ass Is That It's Behind Me," which was published in May 2011. She hosted her own radio talk show on the Los Angeles radio station KFI. The multi-faceted personality is popular for being well-versed in acting, writing as well as production.

Lisa Ann Walter began her career as a standup comedian. She performed standup comedy for five years before starring in her own Fox Network comedy series, ‘My Wildest Dreams’ in 1995. In 1996, she created her own sitcom called ‘Life’s Work’. The sitcom was based on the story of a divorcee mother who juggles a high-powered job and family. The sitcom ran until 1997 on ABC. In 1996, she was cast in the movie ‘Eddie’ as Whoopi Goldberg's sidekick Claudine. In 1998, she became a popular actress after being cast in the remake of ‘The Parent Trap’. The movie became instantly popular and was ranked number two after ‘Saving Private Ryan’.
In 2003, she landed a role in yet another hit movie, ‘Bruce Almighty,’ starring Jim Carrey. She went on to act in movies including ‘Shall We Dance’ in 2004, ‘War of Worlds’ in 2005, ‘Drillbit Taylor’ in 2008, ‘Killers’ in 2010 and ‘Wedding Day’ in 2012.
Walter also appeared in several TV series including ‘The Love Boat: The Next Wave’ (1998), ‘Strong Medicine’ (2001), and ‘Breaking News’ (2002). In 2006-07, she had a supporting role as Mabel the bartender in the soap opera by MyNetworkTV, ‘Watch Over Me’. During the same period, she was also among the panel of judges on the ABC reality TV show ‘The Next Best Thing’, which searched for the best celebrity look-alikes in America.
She starred in the VH1 reality series ‘Celebracadabra’, a show where celebrities try to learn and perform magic. She was eliminated in the sixth episode of the series after making it to the final three. She has also created a series for the Oxygen network called ‘Dance Your Ass Off’. Her most recent onscreen appearance was in the 2019 movie ‘Stripped’.
Walter also hosted her own talk show on the Los Angeles radio station KFI. Her talk show was dubbed ‘The Fabulous Lisa Ann Walter Show’. The show began in May 2011 and aired on Saturdays and Sundays. However, she quit the show in 2014 to focus on her acting career.

Family & Personal Life
Lisa Ann Walter was born on August 3, 1963, in Silver Spring, Maryland, USA. Her father, Louis Walter, was on the first team of scientists from NASA to dissect the moon rocks. Mr. Walter loved to sing and performed at community theater musicals in his spare time. Lisa Walter recalls that she participated in a stage production of ‘South Pacific’ at the age of six to get her father’s approval.
She was granted an academic scholarship to study at The Catholic University of America to study drama under the guidance of the renowned Father Gilbert Hartke. She chose the university for its prestigious theater department. She graduated in 1983 and landed jobs as a singing waitress in Washington clubs and cabarets. She met Sam Baum, her future husband, during a stage audition for ‘A Streetcar Named Desire.’ She married Baum in 1986 and moved to New York City. The couple had four kids before the marriage ended.
