Alexis Liela Afshar better known as Lexy Panterra is an American Twerking (a form of dancing) artist who has become a social media star because of her amazing dancing and singing skills. Lex TwerkOut, Lexy’s fitness workout program, has over 13 million subscribers and more than 100K followers on her YouTube channel. The talented girl’s Instagram fan following is 1.7 million, while on Vine and Twitter she has garnered over 80K and 50K followers respectively. Such is her popularity that the Stocks of Lexy’s Lex TwerkOut leggings were reportedly sold out at some stores. The girl also has some great acumen for business. She and her friend and client Christina Milian have come up with Lex TwerkOut app. And this all was not a cake walk for Lexy because she had to cope up with the fact that she was a Muslim and had a step father and step siblings. Dancing too requires a lot of patience and practice.
The Meteoric Rise To Stardom
Lexy attained fame with her singles Supa Dupa and Neon. Before this success she was a member of an all-girl R&B group. In January, 2014, the artist started an exercise program involving twerking called the Lex TwerkOut. She also gained a lot of admiration for her dancing skills, modeling pictures, and videos that she uploaded on her Instagram account. She became a sensation after she collaborated with Playboy magazine for the Twerking Through History video in 2015. The video became viral and got viewership across the globe. When Lex was merely five years old, she won her first beauty contest and this achievement was the stepping stone for the twerking, singing, songwriter phenomena that she is today. This was followed up by her participation in her first motorcycle race at the age of eight. Lex took the first spot in many races.

What Makes Lexy Pantera So Special
Lex did not have a very luxurious upbringing; she spent a part of her initial years in a dodgy Sacramento neighborhood but did not fall prey to the drug dealing that was a usual activity in the area. She has maintained a good rapport with both her immediate and step family members and feels indebted to them for their contribution in her life. But it was her father’s serious injury in a motocross accident that made her quit racing at the age of 11 when she was ruling the game.
The twerking star courted controversy when a snoring remedy billboard advertisement showed her as a Muslim girl in a black veil being embraced by an American soldier in 2013-2014. Both Muslims and Non-Muslims perceived it as insulting. In an interview Lexy said that school students told her that she looked like a terrorist. But such controversies did not dent her confidence.
Behind The Curtains
Lexy’s father is Tony Panterra who is a professional motocross racer and world class hot rod builder. Her late paternal grandmother was a well-known Persian lyricist, producer, and poet during the 1960’s and 70’s. Her grandmother got settled in America after the Iranian Revolution in the 1970s. She’s the niece of Alex Dodd who has been 17 time world champion drag racer, and producer. The talented girl owes a lot to her family members and has learned many skills from them. It was her father who taught her racing and daredevil riding. She picked up a liking for music and dancing from her mother while her step-cousins introduced her to twerking when she was just 12. The girl acknowledges their contribution in her life and gives a lot of importance to both sides of her family. There was speculation that Lexy was dating MTV’s Catfish host, Nev Schulman.
