Lamorne Morris is an American actor, comedian, and TV personality, best known for his performance as ‘Winston Bishop’ in the ‘Fox’ series ‘New Girl.’ He has also hosted game shows such as the ‘Cartoon Network’ series ‘BrainRush.’ He has been part of ‘Valley of the Boom,’ the 2019 docudrama miniseries on ‘National Geographic.’ Besides working on TV, he has acted in films such as ‘Barbershop: The Next Cut,’ ‘Sandy Wexler,’ and ‘Game Night.’ He has appeared on ‘YouTube’ video channels and in several commercials, besides featuring in award-winning independent films and short films. He has also worked for ‘BET’ (‘Black Entertainment Television’), a division of ‘Viacom Networks’ predominantly geared toward African–American audiences. His appearance on Larry King’s talk show in 2017 provided glimpses of his troubled childhood.

Childhood & Early Life
He was born on August 14, 1983, in Glen Ellyn, a suburb of Chicago.
Not much is known about his parents, except that his father was a drug dealer who was often in prison. He has stated his father has now cleaned up his act and lives in Belize.
His mother worked at a local post office when he was a child.
In an interview with the magazine ‘Glamor,’ he revealed that he has three siblings.
He attended the ‘Glenbard South High School’ and initially dreamed of becoming a basketball player.
He then enrolled at the ‘College of DuPage,’ a public community college in Glen Ellyn, which boasts of notable alumni such as actor John Belushi, javelin champion Tom Pukstys, and footballer Matt Ryan.
He received the ‘Chris Farley Memorial Acting Scholarship.’
He graduated college in 2003 while simultaneously taking courses at the ‘Second City Training Center,’ which offers workshops and classes in improvisation, comedy, writing, stand-up comedy, and clowning.
He is a former member of the ‘Second City Outreach & Diversity’ ensemble.
He claims he enjoyed playing pranks in church and was often in trouble for mocking the preacher and imitating people.

Career
In 2002, he worked as a voiceover artist for the film ‘Urban Ground Squirrels,’ a hilarious take on campus life.
He was noticed by ‘BET’ and became one of the winners of their ‘New Faces’ search.
He made his debut as a host for ‘BET,’ co-hosting his own show, ‘HotWyred,’ on July 10, 2006, along with the co-winner of ‘New Faces,’ Alesha Renee.
The show had a successful, continuous run till May 2007.
Since then, he has been frequently featured on ‘BET,’ as part of shows such as ‘106 & Park,’ ‘106 & Party,’ ‘Top 100 Countdown,’ and the ‘Grammy Nomination Special.’ He appeared with Alesha Renee on ‘BET Now,’ a daily show.
In 2009, he briefly worked with ‘Cartoon Network’ as the host of the live game show ‘BrainRush.’
