Kristen Schaal is an American actress, comedian, voice artist and writer. She is known for her roles in the drama series ‘Flight of the Conchords’, ‘The Last Man on Earth’ and ‘The Heart, She Holler’. As a voice actress, she is known for contributing to the animated sitcoms ‘Gravity Falls’ and ‘Bob's Burgers’. She has also voiced several characters, including that of Sarah, in the series ‘BoJack Horseman,’ for which she earned a Primetime Emmy Award nomination. Born in Longmont, Colorado to a construction worker and her secretary wife, Schaal grew up alongside her elder brother on her family's cattle ranch. She attended Northwestern University and then relocated to New York following her graduation to pursue a career in comedy. From performing as a comedian at festivals to becoming a famous film and television personality, the talented artiste has come a long way in her career. Besides being a comedian and actress, Schaal is also an amazing writer. Since 2012, she has been married to writer Rich Blomquist. They have a daughter.

Career
From 2001 to 2002, Kristen Schaal featured in three episodes of ‘The Education of Max Bickford’. She also had a minor role in the romantic fantasy film ‘Kate & Leopold’ during this time.
In 2005, she was mentioned in an article titled ‘The Ten Funniest New Yorkers You've Never Heard Of’ by New York magazine. A year later, she won the "Best Alternative Comedian" award at the US Comedy Arts Festival. In 2006, Schaal also featured in the Comedy Central show ‘Live at Gotham,’ as well as served as a voice actress on ‘Freak Show.’
From 2007 to 2009, she played Mel in HBO’s ‘Flight of the Conchords’ and also did the films ‘Norbit’ and ‘The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard’.

Schaal’s role as Mabel Pines earned her an award at the 40th Annie Awards function.
From 2014 to 2017, the actress voiced Sarah Lynn in the adult animated comedy-drama series ‘BoJack Horseman’ and earned a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for her role. In 2018, the online entertainment website Indiewire named the series as the best animated series of all time while ‘Thrillist’ gave it the title of the best Netflix original series of all time.
