Katie McGrath is an Irish actress best recognized for appearing as Morgana in the BBC series ‘Merlin’, as Sarah Bennett in the horror anthology ‘Slasher’ and as Westenra in the British-American opera ‘Dracula’. She is also famous for currently portraying the role of Lena Luthor in the superhero program ‘Supergirl’ (2016–present). On the big screen, the actress is known for her role as Lady Thelma Furness in the flick ‘W.E.’, as Elsa in the epic fantasy movie ‘King Arthur: Legend of the Sword’ and as Zara Young in the science fiction movie ‘Jurassic World’. McGrath has also made appearances in many TV films including 'Damage', 'Eden', 'Freakdog', 'A Princess for Christmas' and 'Buttons'. She has done a music video for Hozier as well. Talking about the Irish artist’s awards and accolades, she was the winner of the ‘Virgin Media TV Award’ under the category Best Baddy for her work in ‘Merlin’ in 2011. The same performance once also fetched her numerous nominations at multiple awards events and functions.

Career
Katie McGrath began her career as a fashion journalist for ‘Image’ magazine. She then became a wardrobe assistant and worked on the sets of the series ‘The Tudors’. In 2007, she acted in the short film ‘Pebble’ as well as in the TV movie ‘Damage’. A year later, she did the television films ‘Eden’ and ‘Freakdog’ and the miniseries ‘The Roaring Twenties’. That year, McGrath also began playing the role of Morgana Pendragon in the series ‘Merlin’.
Then in 2009, she appeared in an episode of ‘The Queen’. Soon after this, the actress found roles in the TV flick ‘A Princess for Christmas’ and in the movie ‘W.E.’ She then appeared as Oriane Congost in the miniseries ‘Labyrinth’. McGrath was then cast as Lucy Westenra in the drama ‘Dracula’ in 2013. That year, she also got featured in an episode of ‘Dates’.
In 2014 and 2015, she did the films ‘Jurassic World’, ‘The Throwaways’ and ‘Leading Lady’. After this, the Irish artiste appeared in the dramas ‘Slasher’ and ‘Frontier’ in 2016. The same year, she began playing Lena Luthor in the superhero drama series ‘Supergirl’. McGrath played Elsa in the movie ‘King Arthur: Legend of the Sword’ the following year.

Katie McGrath was born on January 3, 1983 in Ashford, County Wicklow, Ireland, to Mary and Paul. Her mother works for an Irish designer while her father works with computers. She has two older brothers named Rory (online media manager) and Sean (post-production producer). McGrath enrolled for the International Baccalaureate at St. Andrew's College. Later, she obtained a degree in history from Trinity College, Dublin.
