Katie was in college when she decided to become a vlogger. Back then, she regularly watched YouTube videos. Beauty and fashion channels were her favorites. YouTubers such as Zoella inspired her to do something similar.

Katie was not sure about the content for her upcoming 'YouTube' channel. Although she wanted her channel to focus on beauty and fashion, she wished to deliver something unique to her viewers. With no significant preparation, Katie finally created her 'YouTube' channel and named it 'Beauty Guru Girl.’ She later changed its name to ‘Katie Betzing.’ Initially, she majorly focused on hair-care videos. Back then, she was not so proficient in applying makeup. In one of her initial makeup tutorials, she used earbuds instead of brushes to apply the products. The result was a disaster.

Nevertheless, with time, she acquired makeup skills and eventually became a professional. At present, the channel has numerous makeup and hairstyle tutorials. Katie also shares hair- and skin-care routines, which have turned her channel into an informative medium.

Katie’s biggest passion is to entertain people. In an attempt to make her channel more entertaining, she later introduced content other than beauty and fashion. Katie began creating DIY tutorials, life-advice videos, daily routines, and more such content. She has also shared her fitness routine through her vlogs. The channel has accumulated more than 1.3 million subscribers. Katie has a second YouTube channel, too, which features her life stories, named ‘Katie Betzing Vlogs.’ The second channel mostly hosts her travel diaries and Christmas vlogs.

Katie Betzing was born on September 10, 1997, in Michigan, US. She grew up with two sisters and a brother. Katie created a tag video with one of her sisters, named Elizabeth. One of her cousins, named Landen, too, has appeared in her vlogs.

Katie attended a community college near her home. She then completed a few online courses, too. She then decided to study advertising at the 'University of Michigan.' Katie has always been a sporty person. She has played a number of sports during her 'Romeo High School' days. She also played soccer in high school. She won a volleyball state championship tournament while playing for her high school. Apart from soccer and volleyball, Katie also played tennis. She has now started venturing into adventure sports such as snowboarding and water skiing. Katie’s favorite subject in high school was math. She has won the coveted title of the class president thrice in high school.
