Jerry Solomon was born in 1954, and raised by his parents, Roberta Madison, and Edward D. Solomon, who was the chief executive of ‘Shoe Town, Inc.’ After completing high school, Jerry graduated from the ‘University of California’ at Los Angeles. He then graduated with a master’s in International Business from ‘Columbia University.’

Career

Jerry began his career in 1980, as the director of ‘Volvo Grand Prix,’ a professional tennis circuit. After serving as the director of ‘Volvo Grand Prix’ for five years, he started working at ‘ProServ,’ another famous sports management firm.

He started striking deals with world-renowned athletes and sportspersons, which helped him rise to the position of senior vice president of ‘ProServ’ in the year 1990. He then went on to become the marketing president of ‘ProServ.’

He met Nancy Kerrigan and started working as her manager. He became a noteworthy sports manager when he helped Nancy secure various endorsement deals worth $3 million. Thanks to his managerial skills, Nancy was able to strike deals with major brands, such as Revlon, Reebok, and Campbell Soup Company.

He soon became one of the most popular sports managers in the United States. In his illustrious career as a sports manager, Jerry has worked with famous sportspersons like Ivan Lendl, Shannon Miller, and Karch Kiraly.

He is currently working as the CEO and president of ‘Stargames LLC.’ He has also produced many sports based events, such as ‘King of the Beach Invitational,’ ‘Scottish Grass Court Championships,’ ‘BNP Paribas Showdown,’ ‘NetJets Showdown,’ ‘Tennis Night in America,’ and ‘Queen of the Beach Invitational.’

Jerry has also worked as an executive producer for various TV shows and films. He has worked on TV shows, such as ‘Colors of Winter,’ ‘Ivan Lendl: Return of a Champion,’ ‘Spike,’ ‘World of Tennis,’ ‘Dreams on Ice,’ ‘Halloween on Ice,’ and ‘Nancy Kerrigan’s World of Skating.’ He has also produced a couple of films like ‘The Easter Egg Adventure’ and ‘Great Pair Performers on Ice.’

He has authored a book titled ‘An Insider’s Guide to Managing Sporting Events.’ He also serves as an adjunct professor at the ‘UCLA Anderson School of Management’ and the ‘University of New Hampshire.’

Jerry Solomon is considered as one of the best in sports management business. He was inducted into the ‘Personal Managers Hall of Fame’ and was also inducted into the ‘National Jewish Sports Hall of Fame.’

‘Sporting News’ magazine acknowledged his achievements by including him in the list of ‘Top 100 Most Powerful People in Sports.’ Another magazine named ‘Figure Skating International’ included him in the list of ‘Top 25 Most Influential People in Figure Skating.’

Jerry Solomon started hogging the limelight after announcing his wedding with his former client Nancy Kerrigan. He married her on September 9, 1995, amidst speculations and probing paparazzi.

His wedding with Nancy Kerrigan was his third marriage. He was married twice before and even has a child from one of his previous marriages. Jerry Solomon and Nancy Kerrigan are blessed with three children, namely Matthew, Brian, and Nicole.

He played key role in establishing various foundations like ‘Nancy Kerrigan Foundation,’ ‘KidSport Foundation,’ and ‘Karch Kiraly Scholarship Fund.’ ‘The Nancy Kerrigan Foundation’ has been involved in various philanthropic activities, including raising significant funds to help people with partial and complete blindness.
