In the same year, she set up her YouTube account where she began to upload covers of popular songs in 2012. She made her big screen debut in 2012 in the comedy-drama ‘Beauty and the Least: The Misadventures of Ben Banks’. Facer subsequently guest starred in a series of TV shows before she was cast as Dani in ‘Melissa & Joey’. Her character appeared in ten episodes in the last two seasons of the show. Since then, she has continued to act and post covers on her YouTube account, on which she has 154 thousand subscribers. She is quite popular on other platforms of social media as well. Rise to Fame
Jada Facer set up her self-titled YouTube channel on April 26, 2011, and uploaded the first video two days later. It was a reel video that was shot for an agency, demonstrating her talent. She posted her next video, a cover of John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’, nearly a year after that, on April 3, 2012. She is still a regular YouTube user and posts covers on her channel regularly.
She has said that she had become interested in acting after working in the short film ‘Y: The Last Man Rising’ (2012). Based on one of the most iconic graphic novels of all time, ‘Y: The Last Man’ by Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra, the film tells the story of a young amateur escape artist named Yorick Brown, who, alongside his pet male Capuchin monkey, becomes the only surviving mammals in the entire world after the apparent simultaneous deaths of the rest. Facer portrayed a character named Alice.
While ‘Y: The Last Man Rising’ was the first project she ever filmed, it was Hallmark Channel’s TV film ‘Love’s Christmas Journey’ that was released first, in 2011, effectively becoming her screen debut. The telefilm was based on a series of books by Janette Oke. Facer was cast as Annabelle Davis, a member of the family around which the plot revolves.
She next appeared in an uncredited role in 2012 in the comedy-drama ‘Beauty and the Least: The Misadventures of Ben Banks’. The film also marked her big screen debut. That year, she also starred in two short films: ‘One Bad Thing’ and ‘Niña Del Tango’. Facer began the following year by portraying a character named Elsie in the comedy-drama ‘The Caterpillar’s Kimono’ and went to work in a short film called ‘Father’s Promise’. She guest-starred in three television shows in 2014: ABC’s mystery drama ‘Mistresses’, CBS’ single-camera comedy series ‘Bad Teacher’, and Nickelodeon’s comedy series ‘ Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn’.
In 2014, she landed the most important role in her carer to date. She was picked to play the character of Dani, the daughter of Joe Longo (Joey Lawrence), one of the two titular characters of the show, in season three and four of ABC Family’s (now Freeform) sitcom ‘Melissa & Joey’.
After ‘Melissa & Joey’, she made appearances in two shows. In 2015, she played Courtney Sham in Nickelodeon’s ‘Henry Danger’ and in 2016, she portrayed Candi Falconman in ‘The Thundermans’. She has also appeared in the 2015 action adventure ‘Battle for Skylark’. Facer’s most recent role was in a 2017 episode of Fox’s sitcom ‘The Mick’.
