Career

Hanna Alström began acting at Unga Teatern when she was just five years old. The theatre group performed at various venues in Stockholm. At the age of six, she appeared in Staffan Götestam's production of Gränsland at the Gröna Lund Theatre. Soon after this, she had some child roles at the Royal Dramatic Theatre.

She made her big screen debut in 1988, playing Berit in the flick ‘Gull-Pian.’ Alström then starred in the TV series ‘Bert.’ From 1997 to 1998, she played the role of Magdalena Gren in the opera ‘Vita lögner’. During this time, she also starred in ‘Skärgårdsdoktorn (in English The archipelago doctor)’. The series went on to become one of the most successful Swedish TV series of the 1990s. The actress was featured in the TV programs ‘Längtans blåa blomma’, ‘Barnen på Luna’, ‘Nya tider’ and ‘Cleo’ in the ensuing years.

In the year 2004, she was cast in ‘Fjorton suger’ (English title: "Fourteen Sucks"). Directed by Henrik Norrthon, Emil Larsson and others, the drama film revolves round a teenage girl and her family. Alström had roles in a handful of films and dramas including ‘Kärlek 3000’, ‘Livet i Fagervik’, ‘Blomstertid’ and ‘Crimes of Passion’ in the coming years.

She rose to international fame with her role as Princess Tilde in the 2014 action spy comedy movie ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’. She later reprised the role in its sequel ‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’ which released in 2017. The Swedish beauty starred alongside Lene Cecilia Sparrok and Anders Berg in ‘Sami Blood’ in 2016. The coming-of-age drama flick directed and written by Amanda Kernell concerns a teenage girl who experiences discrimination at a nomad school for Sami children and eventually decides to escape her town. In 2018, Alström played Ann Zacharias in Hannes Holm’s film ‘Ted – För kärlekens skull’.

Hanna Alström was born on 7 July 1981 in Stockholm, Sweden. She is the younger sister of actress Sara Alström. She attended Sankt Eriks gymnasium and later studied at the Swedish National Academy of Mime and Acting.

Talking about her love life, Alström got married to actor Gustaf Skarsgard in 1999. The couple divorced in 2005.
