Who is Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum?
Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum is the second son of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He is the Crown Prince of Dubai, UAE. He is following in the footsteps of his father and has clearly shown ample leadership qualities along with the characteristics of simplicity, modesty, and generosity. As a prince, he lives a luxurious life and has received an upbringing worthy of his lineage. Hamdan has a heart of gold and is always keen to meet the common people, especially the poor and the needy. Being a member of the royalty, he cares deeply about his citizens. Hamdan bin Mohammed al Maktoum received his initial education at Rashid School for Boys. He then enrolled at Dubai School of Government and later graduated from Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS). In his interview with ‘Vision,’ the prince described how studying at Sandhurst taught him the significance of commitment, self-discipline, virtues, endurance, responsibility, understanding, friendship, teamwork, and hard work. Roles & Positions
In September 2006, Hamdan was elected as the chairman of the Dubai executive council. On February 1, 2008, he was conferred the status of the Crown Prince of Dubai, UAE. As the newly appointed crown prince, he employed new key personnel and financial advisors to help him administer his responsibilities.
In July 2009, he became the President of the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University. Hamdan is also the chief of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Establishment for young entrepreneurs and is affiliated with the Dubai autism centre and the Dubai sports council as well. In 2011, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum founded the Hamdan International Photography Award.

Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum was born on14 November 1982 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and his senior wife Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum as their second son out of 12 children. He had an elder full brother, Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed, who died of a heart attack in the year 2015.
The crown prince has a number of hobbies, including photography, travelling, playing with animals, car racing, and engaging in adventure. He is also an acclaimed Nabati poet who is known for publishing patriotic and romantic poems under the name Fazza3. Hamdan describes his poetic work as: “My identity and poetic character through which I humbly attempt to rekindle joy in the hearts of people, alleviate their suffering in my own simple way. I express their hopes and aspirations.”
He is also a camel jockey and an avid horse rider. He is a member of Royal Ascot and also plays a key role in the Godolphin stables. Till date, Hamdan has won many honors and titles in horse riding, including gold medals at the 2001 World Youth Endurance Championship, the 2006 Asian Games Endurance Championship, and at the 2008 FEI World Endurance Championship. In 2014, he won the gold at Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games held in Normandy (FRA). His medal tally also includes a bronze medal at the World Equestrian Games 2010. On September 17, 2016, the prince led a team of five riders at the Championships in Samorín.
