Ginger is an American actor, improviser, writer, and director. She is best known for her debut role in the comedy 'Ted.' The half-Filipino and half-Dutch actor has been trained at renowned improvisation theaters, such as 'The Groundlings' and 'The Second City,' and has performed live at various comedy venues in Los Angeles. Ginger is a national-level debater and impromptu speaker. She has also been part of some prominent TV projects. She has appeared in TV series such as 'The Morning After,' 'Legit,' 'Angel from Hell,' and 'I'm Dying Up Here.' She was cast opposite actor Jim Carrey in the TV series 'Kidding.' Ginger made her directorial debut with the short film 'Your Day,' which was screened at various film festivals. Ginger is now in a relationship with Jim Carrey.
- Ginger was born Ginger Tapp Gonzaga, in Pennsylvania on May 17, 1983, and grew up in Modesto, Stanislaus, California. She is the daughter of Adele L (Tapp) and Christopher Deipirine Gonzaga. Ginger’s father is from Cebu, the Philippines. Her mother is white and is believed to be Dutch. She is passionate about singing, too.Ginger had a passion for stage comedy since childhood. As a child, she would dress up like her Cebuano grandmother. To make her appearance more realistic, she would draw wrinkles on her face. She would then mimic her grandmother in front of her neighbors. In college, Ginger lived with male roommates.
