Ethan Sandler is an American actor, producer, and writer. He is best known for playing ADA Jeffrey Brandau in the television crime drama series ‘Crossing Jordan.’ Sandler began his acting career with the 1988 drama film ‘The Chocolate War.’ Written and directed by Keith Gordon, the film had Sandler playing David Caroni. Subsequently, he was roped in to play minor roles in TV series, such as ‘Sex and the City,’ ‘The Street,’ and ‘Will & Grace.’ He received his big breakthrough in 2002 when he was cast in ‘Crossing Jordan,’ in which he appeared in 15 episodes from 2002 to 2007. Apart from acting, Sandler has also worked as a set decorator, writer, and producer. He is credited with writing three episodes of ‘My Boys’ and two episodes of ‘New Girl’ among other writing credits. Sandler married famous American actress and fashion model Kathryn Hahn on January 3, 2002. The celebrity couple is blessed with two children, namely Mae Sandler and Leonard Sandler.

Childhood & Early Life
Ethan Sandler was born on December 3, 1972, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, United States of America, into a Jewish family and was raised in accordance with the Jewish customs.
Sandler was enrolled at ‘Mercer Island High School’ in Washington. While studying in school, he was given an opportunity to produce short videos. He graduated high school in the year 1991. He then attended ‘Northwestern University’ from where he graduated in 1995.
While studying at ‘Northwestern University,’ Sandler often collaborated with Adrian Wenner. Together, they worked in many projects, such as ‘Epitaph,’ ‘This Might Hurt,’ ‘Man with a Plan,’ and ‘We Hate Paul Revere.’ ‘Epitaph’ was screened at ‘The Edinburgh Festival Fringe.’ It was later screened at the ‘HBO Comedy Festival,’ where it won the ‘Best Sketch Award.’

Career
While studying at ‘Mercer Island High School,’ Ethan Sandler landed a role in the 1988 American drama film ‘The Chocolate War.’ Though the film received positive reviews from the critics, it failed to impress the audience.
In 1990, Sandler was cast to play Eddie in the made-for-television comedy film ‘She'll Take Romance.’ Directed by Piers Haggard, the television film starred Linda Evans, Larry Poindexter, and DeLane Matthews among other prominent actors.
In 1992, Sandler appeared in ‘Adventures in Spying.’ He then took a break from acting which allowed him to focus on his education. He made a comeback in 1999 when he appeared in the Carrie Ansell-directed comedy film ‘Flushed.’
Starting from 2000, Sandler started appearing in minor roles. In the 2001 teen comedy film ‘The Princess Diaries,’ he was seen playing a bus driver. He became famous after appearing as Officer Jeffrey Brandau in the popular TV series ‘Crossing Jordan.’ He appeared in 15 episodes of ‘Crossing Jordan’ which made him a household name in the United States.
In 2003, he was seen playing Jerry in a television movie titled ‘A Carol Christmas.’ The film, which premiered on the ‘Hallmark Channel,’ is an adaptation of a story written by Charles Dickens. In 2004, Sandler shared screen space with the likes of Matt Damon, Brian Cox, and Joan Allen in the American-German action thriller film ‘The Bourne Supremacy.’
Sandler started working as a consulting producer with the romantic-comedy TV series ‘My Boys.’ From 2007 to 2008, he worked as a consulting producer for 10 episodes of ‘My Boys.’ In 2010, he returned to the sets of ‘My Boys’ to produce nine episodes of the Betsy Thomas-created series.
From 2011 to 2012, he worked as the consulting producer for 18 episodes of the comedy television series ‘Whitney.’ Meanwhile, he continued appearing in TV series and short films, such as ‘Dead Cat,’ ‘Psych,’ ‘Bakersfield, Earth,’ and ‘Effed.’ From 2014, he started playing a recurring role in the comedy-drama TV series ‘Transparent.’ In 2015, he played Bert in the comedy horror film ‘Gravy.’
From 2016 to 2017, he worked as a co-executive producer for 40 episodes of the comedy television series ‘New Girl.’ In 2016, he was also seen in the comedy-drama film ‘No Pay, Nudity.’ In the same year, he played Herv Jergens in a television movie titled ‘Quest for Truth.’ He was then seen playing Benjamin O'Sullivan in a short film titled ‘The Wake Up Call.’ From 2017 to 2018, he worked as a co-executive producer for 21 episodes of Matt LeBlanc-starrer ‘Man with a Plan.’
Other Major Works
Ethan Sandler played Sam in the popular stage play ‘Fully Committed.’ The play took place at the ‘Public Theater’ in Pittsburgh from June 6, 2002 to July 7, 2002. In 2007, he voiced multiple characters for Disney’s computer-animated science fiction film ‘Meet the Robinsons.’ He lent his voice to characters, such as Aunt Petunia, Uncle Fritz, Doris, Uncle Spike, Uncle Dimitri, and Cousin Laszlo. In 2009, he worked as a set decorator on the sets of a short comedy film titled ‘Two Classy Ladies.’
Sandler has many writing credits to his name. He made his debut as a writer in 2007 when he wrote an episode titled ‘Douchebag in the City’ for ‘My Boys.’ He then wrote three other episodes of ‘My Boys’ from 2008 to 2010. In 2014, he co-wrote a short comedy titled ‘Effed!’ The film, which released in April, was written along with Adrian Wenner. Personal Life
Ethan Sandler met Kathryn Hahn when he was studying at the ‘Northwestern University.’ After dating for a few years, Sandler proposed to her in 2000. Sandler married Hahn on January 3, 2002. In 2006, Sandler and Hahn were blessed with a son named Leonard. In 2009, Hahn gave birth to a daughter named Mae.
In 2016, Sandler and Hahn bought a luxurious villa for $2.55 million. They previously owned a two-bedroom Mediterranean house of the 1920s. The celebrity couple owned the Mediterranean house for over a decade before selling it for more than a million dollars. Sandler and Hahn currently live in Los Angeles along with their two children.
