Eli Craig is an American-Canadian director, actor, and screenwriter. He is best known for writing and directing the 2010 comedy horror film ‘Tucker & Dale vs. Evil.’ The film was premiered at the ‘Sundance Film Festival’ and went on to gather positive responses from critics. The film increased Craig’s popularity as it received many nominations and awards at various film festivals and award ceremonies. Craig started his career as an actor, playing minor roles in films, such as ‘Deal of a Lifetime’ and ‘The Rage: Carrie 2.’ He made his directorial debut in 2004 when he directed a short film titled ‘The Tao of Pong.’ Subsequently, he went on to direct films like ‘Little Evil’ and ‘Zombieland’ (TV movie). Eli Craig was born Elijah Matthew Craig on May 25, 1972, in Los Angeles, California, USA, to Steven Craig and Sally Field. His parents got divorced when he was just three years old. When his father moved to Oregon, he started living with his mother who encouraged him to pursue filmmaking. However, Craig started working as a mountain guide for ‘Outward Bound’ after graduating from college. As an ‘Outward Bound’ instructor, he led several mountaineering expeditions to mountains, such as ‘Pico De Orizaba,’ ‘Aconcagua,’ ‘Denali,’ ‘Mt. Whitney,’ and ‘Mt. Rainier.’ Simultaneously, he started making short comedy videos along with his brother Peter Craig. He then decided to pursue a career in filmmaking and got himself enrolled at a film school.

Eli Craig made his acting debut in 1999 when he was cast to play Kevin Johnson in the Paul Levine-directed romantic comedy film ‘Deal of a Lifetime.’ In the same year, he also played Chuck in the supernatural horror film ‘The Rage: Carrie 2.’
