What he wanted was to show his skills to others and he chose YouTube and Vine as the best media to demonstrate them. At first he started sharing his videos with as many people as possible after overcoming his shyness to share his accomplishments with strangers. One of the main tactics used by DeStorm was to create collaborative videos with others which were featured on each other’s channels which had up to 10,000 viewers. Then he collaborated with people who had 20,000 viewers. In this way he went on collaborating with people who had a large number of viewers and went on increasing the number of viewers for his own channel. His reputation grew with the increasing number of viewers and increasing number of videos uploaded to his personal account. He has more than 250 videos on his ‘DeStorm’ channel which have been viewed more than 250 million of times. The channel has more than 1.8 million subscribers. He has founded the ‘Multi Channel Network Forefront.TV’ which deals with music and lifestyle of the urban world. His estimated net worth is $2.5 million. He has more than 6 million followers on Vine. His mixtape ‘Be Careful’ was released in May 2012.

DeStorm Power is famous as a physical training instructor and a motivational speaker also which is a quality that other YouTubers do not have. He has created a second YouTube channel called ‘DeStormTV’ which he uses mainly for blogs, motivational talks and behind the scene videos. With the help of this channel and his experience as a track and field athlete as well as a personal trainer, he provides tips for keeping fit to more than 1,450,000 subscribers. His multiple talents as a singer, songwriter, physical trainer, musician, comedian, and many others rolled into one has made him an extra special attraction on the YouTube.

DeStorm is rumored to have married his long-time girlfriend with whom he has a son named Tayvion. But he is yet to reveal the name of his wife. It is rumored that Vine star Liane V is his wife after he had posted a video titled ‘this is my wife’ in which she appeared. But the caption was used to highlight the comic side of the video only and the mystery about his wife still remains. It is not known whether he is yet to marry his partner. It is also not clear whether they had married and had got divorced. Even if the members of this family have a huge presence on the internet, they have been able to keep their personal information and affairs completely under wraps.

DeStorm Power grew up in Baltimore, Maryland with his seven siblings under the care of his mother. During his childhood DeStorm had a hard time as his father had separated from his mother and the family was financially in a very bad condition. He spent most of his childhood in learning music rather than going to school. He started as a ghostwriter for Universal, Atlantic Records and other recording companies. After spending some time singing and song writing with these companies he set out to establish himself as an accomplished producer, singer and song writer. He used YouTube as the platform to reach out to millions of viewers. He is also an established track and field athlete and a specialist triple jumper who was invited to the Olympic Trials on one occasion. He is also an expert on providing physical training to various people.
