DeStorm Power is an American singer and songwriter who won the ‘American Music Award’ in the ‘New Media Honoree (Male)’ category in 2011 and the ‘YouTube Music Awards’ in the ‘Innovation of the Year’ category in 2013. He was nominated for the ‘Streamy Award for Best Web Musician’ in 2013 and won the ‘Streamy Award for Best Vine Comedian’ in 2014. He has made videos for global brands such as Pepsi which have been broadcast by MTV, VH1 and BET. He has collaborated with recording artists like Snoop Lion, Talib Kweli, Vassy and celebrities like Taye Diggs and Larry King for his videos. He sells apparel and other products made by ‘Hot Pockets’, ‘THQ’ and ‘Home Depot’. He has more than 1.4 million subscribers who have viewed his videos millions of times. In the first season of the YouTube series ‘Epic Rap Battles of History’, he appeared in ‘Mr.T vs. Mr.Rogers’ as ‘Mr.T’, as a rap artist named ‘Kayne West’ in ‘Donald Trump vs. Ebenezer Scrooge’ in the third season and as ‘Shaka Zulu’ in ‘Shaka Zulu vs. Julius Caesar’ in the fourth season.

DeStorm Power attained a high level of skill at songwriting, singing and the production of musicals early in his life. What he wanted was to show his skills to others and he chose YouTube and Vine as the best media to demonstrate them. At first he started sharing his videos with as many people as possible after overcoming his shyness to share his accomplishments with strangers. One of the main tactics used by DeStorm was to create collaborative videos with others which were featured on each other’s channels which had up to 10,000 viewers. Then he collaborated with people who had 20,000 viewers. In this way he went on collaborating with people who had a large number of viewers and went on increasing the number of viewers for his own channel. His reputation grew with the increasing number of viewers and increasing number of videos uploaded to his personal account. He has more than 250 videos on his ‘DeStorm’ channel which have been viewed more than 250 million of times. The channel has more than 1.8 million subscribers. He has founded the ‘Multi Channel Network Forefront.TV’ which deals with music and lifestyle of the urban world. His estimated net worth is $2.5 million. He has more than 6 million followers on Vine. DeStorm Power grew up in Baltimore, Maryland with his seven siblings under the care of his mother. During his childhood DeStorm had a hard time as his father had separated from his mother and the family was financially in a very bad condition. He spent most of his childhood in learning music rather than going to school. He started as a ghostwriter for Universal, Atlantic Records and other recording companies. After spending some time singing and song writing with these companies he set out to establish himself as an accomplished producer, singer and song writer. He used YouTube as the platform to reach out to millions of viewers. He is also an established track and field athlete and a specialist triple jumper who was invited to the Olympic Trials on one occasion. He is also an expert on providing physical training to various people.
