In 2014, Darci Lynne Farmer won the first prize in Edmond's Got Talent. The following year, she earned the first place at Oklahoma's Got Talent as well as Oklahoma Kids in the junior division. She also won the overall Entertainer of the Year Award at American Kids in Missouri. Soon after this, she appeared on Little Big Shots (US).

In July 2016, Darci Lynne Farmer became the first child ventriloquist to perform in an evening show of the Vent Haven International Ventriloquists' ConVENTion. After this, she appeared on Little Big Shots (UK). In 2017, Farmer participated in the 12th season of America's Got Talent and went on to win the show. In September 2017, she was invited to The Ellen DeGeneres Show. In December that year, the young artist appeared on Jeff Dunham's video titled The Haunted House on Dunham Hill.

In the year 2017, Darci Lynne Farmer also performed at various events, including One Night with the Stars and a New Year's Eve event at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. That year, she also appeared in a Terry Fator act at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa in Catoosa, Oklahoma. On November 28, 2017, it was announced that Farmer would be going on a national tour named Darci Lynne and Friends Live.
