Dallas Mark Roberts is an American actor, best known as ‘Milton Mamet’ in the wildly popular zombie series ‘The Walking Dead.’ The actor has also featured in shows like ‘The Good Wife’ and ‘Unforgettable.’ He currently appears on the Netflix series ‘Insatiable.’ Roberts initially started as a stage actor and performed in Broadway plays throughout the late 90s and early 2000s. Thereafter he started acting in movies; he has worked in over 30 movies and TV shows. During his college days he was rather unsure about his career option. He was encouraged by his drama professor to pursue acting seriously and this motivation helped him secure roles in successful stage productions, including ‘Burn This’ (2002) and ‘Nocturne.’

Childhood & Early Life
Dallas Roberts was born on May 10, 1970, in Houston, Texas. He has a brother, Bryan Roberts. In Houston, he attended ‘Paul Revere Middle School’ and later ‘Robert E. Lee High School.’
Roberts was still a high school student when he moved to Sarasota, Florida, and he finally graduated from the ‘Sarasota High School’ in 1988. He attended the ‘State College of Florida’ for a while and in 1990, he enrolled at the ‘Juilliard School’ in NYC. Four years later, Roberts graduated from the ‘Juilliard School’ as a member of their drama division’s ‘Group 23.’

Career
Roberts began his career as a theatre artist, and worked in both on an off-Broadway projects. One of the first important acting projects of his life was Lanford Wilson’s ‘Burn This’ (2002). The play revolved around homosexual identities, and Roberts shared the stage with Edward Norton and Catherine Keener.
During the early years of his career, he earned a ‘Drama Desk Award’ nomination for his performance in Adam Rapp’s ‘Nocturne.’
One of his significant projects was Caryl Churchill’s ‘A Number.’ One of his first projects on the silver screen was an adaptation of a novel by Michael Cunningham, ‘A Home at the End of the World’ (2004).
Soon after, he landed a few more supporting roles in biographical dramas like ‘Walk the Line’ (2005) and ‘The Notorious Betty Page’ (2005). Between 2006 and 2007, he experimented with horror genre with ‘Sisters’ (2006) and ‘Joshua’ (2007).
Between 2007 and 2017, he worked in several other movies. The ones that particularly deserve a mention are ‘Ingenious’ (2009), ‘The River Why’ (2010), ‘The Grey’ (2012) (2011), ‘Dallas Buyer’s Club’ (2013), and ‘Mayhem’ (2017).
Roberts first worked in a TV series, ‘New York Undercover,’ in 1994 and later had a major role in the 2006 series in 2006, and the show was ‘The L Word.’ Thereafter, he appeared in a number of other projects. In 2010, he was seen as ‘Miles Fiedler’ in the series ‘Rubicon.’ The same year, he appeared in the police procedural drama ‘Law & Order: Criminal Intent’ and in 2015, he appeared in ‘Chicago P.D.’ and ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.’
Roberts acted in the contemporary adaptation of Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes, ‘Elementary.’ He became quite popular in the third season of ‘The Walking Dead.’ (2012-2013). Some his other TV series include ‘The Good Wife’ (2010-2016) and ‘Unforgettable’ (2013-2015).
He currently appears on the Netflix series ‘Insatiable.’ He has also acted in the Netflix anthology series ‘Heartstrings,’ which is scheduled to premiere in 2019.
Major Works
Dallas Roberts received global recognition for playing ‘Milton Mamet’ in ‘The Walking Dead.’ Though the show is adapted from a comic book series, the character ‘Mamet’ is an original addition to the show - he does not appear in the comic book. Mamet is a scientist and one of the Governor’s favorite men. The first episode he appeared in was called ‘Walk with Me’ and the last one was ‘Welcome to the Tombs.’

In 2008 and 2014, he was nominated for the ‘Screen Actors Guild Awards’ in the ‘Outstanding Performance by the Cast in a Motion Picture’ category for ‘Dallas Buyer’s Club’ and ‘3:10 to Yuma.’

Dallas Roberts is married to Christine Jones. Christine is a scenic designer and designed the sets of seven plays in which Roberts acted.

Trivia
Dallas Roberts acted in the 2010 TV series ‘Rubicon,’ which centered around an ‘intelligence analyst,’ working for the ‘American Policy Institute.’ The role that Roberts plays in the show was originally written for a seventy-year-old man, but Roberts was so impressive during the audition that the producers decided to revise and rewrite the role for Roberts.
