CL, born as Lee Chae-rin, is a South Korean rapper, singer, and songwriter. She is best known as one of the members of the former girl group 2NE1. With the group, she released several singles including “Crush”, "Lollipop", "I Don't Care”, "The Leaders", “Baby I Miss You" and "If I Were You". As far as her solo career is concerned, she has released several singles as the lead artist, such as "Please Don't Go", "The Baddest Female", "Hello Bitches", "Lifted” and "Doctor Pepper", to name a few. CL has also sung numerous songs as a featured artist, the popular ones being "Hot Issue", "What", "The Leaders", "Dirty Vibe", "Kiss" and "Surrender". The multi-talented young lady is a songwriter as well and has written plenty of songs till date. Talking about her awards and accolades, she won the ‘20's Style Award’ at MNET 20's Choice Awards function. Also, CL was named the ‘Hottest Female Star of 2013’ by MYX Philippines. Besides these, she won the title of ‘Top Female Artist’ at the event of YinYueTai V-Chart Awards.

Career
Lee Chae-rin gave her first singing audition when she was 15. She was then featured on Big Bang's "Intro” in 2007. The same year, she performed for the very first time on stage. She then gave her first credited performance by rapping Uhm Jung-hwa's "DJ” in 2008.
A year later, she took the stage name CL and became the lead rapper of the girl group 2NE1 alongside Minzy, Sandara Park and Bom. The group collaborated with the band Big Bang for the track "Lollipop.” Next, they released their single "I Don't Care" for their first EP titled ‘2NE1’. This song became a huge success and was placed in many charts.
In August 2009, CL teamed up with Teddy Park and G-Dragon for the song "The Leaders". Soon after this she collaborated with Minzy for the single "Please Don't Go”. Then on 28 May 2013, she released her first solo single titled "The Baddest Female". Next, she co-composed and wrote the tracks "Crush", "Baby I Miss You" and “If I Were You" for 2NE1's second album ‘Crush’. The album was released in March 2014. More recently, she performed at the 2018 Winter Olympics closing ceremony at Pyeongchang Olympic Stadium in February 2018.
