Chumlee Russell Biography

Austin Lee Russell is a business owner, television personality, and actor from America. A member of the main cast of History Channel’s reality TV series ‘Pawn Stars’, he is most known by his stage name, Chumlee. A native of Nevada, he grew up alongside Corey "Big Hoss" Harrison, whose father and grandfather set up the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in 1989. Chumlee was 21 years old when he started working at the pawnshop. A few years later, in July 2009, ‘Pawn Stars’ premiered on History, catapulting Chumlee, along with three members of the Harrison family, into international stardom. He predominantly works behind the counter. Some of his duties are checking the items, loading them, and writing the tickets for items bought by the customers. In the show, he is portrayed as someone who is not particularly intelligent or extremely competent at his job, and as a result, is often at the receiving end of others’ jokes. Despite this, he has shown that he can be quite brilliant from time to time. In recent years, Chumlee has set up several business ventures, including a company that sells novelty items and a candy shop.
