Christiana Barkley Biography

Christiana Barkley was born into fame and opulence. Her father, Charles Barkley, is a former professional basketball player. Charles is regarded as one of the greatest players of the game. He is also considered one the most dominant power forwards of the ‘NBA.’ Following his retirement, Charles has had a thriving career as an ‘NBA’ analyst and presently features as an analyst on ‘Inside the NBA.’ Christiana’s mother, Maureen Blumhardt, made her mark as a model. Maureen appeared in an advertisement of ‘Noblerex K-1,’ a body vibration machine. She also worked as a legal aid for a non-profitable organization for a while but later became heavily involved in charitable efforts, particularly those related to women empowerment and support. Currently, she is an honorary member of ‘Fresh Start Women’s Foundation,’ a non-profit organization based in Phoenix, Arizona, which aims at providing education, support, and resources to women to transform their lives positively. Owing to her celebrity lineage, it was quite obvious that Christiana would garner attention and limelight from an early age.

She reportedly worked as a sales assistant with the media company ‘Turner Sports’ for a while. According to sources, she is currently pursuing a career in journalism. She also gets involved in social work and charitable activities and was seen with her mother at the 20th celebration of ‘Fresh Start Fashion Gala’ in March 2016. The fundraising event yielded more than $1.5 million for charity.

Christiana once garnered the spotlight for the wrong reasons. In an untoward incident, her name started making headlines after some racy pictures rumored to be hers were found on ‘Twitter.’ The pictures were uploaded using the username ‘Ari.’ As Christiana is the daughter of an ‘NBA’ star, it did not take much time for the pictures to get viral and create a buzz on social media. It was later found that the pictures were of a woman named Villanova. Apparently, Christiana’s striking resemblance to the lady had led to the confusion and had resulted in Christiana being dragged into a controversy.

Christiana is black from her father’s side and Caucasian from her mother’s side. Her parents met each other at a ‘City Avenue’ restaurant and eventually fell in love and started dating. However, their racial differences led them to face criticism during that time. There was a lot of controversy regarding the relationship in the late 1980s. This led the couple to opt for a court marriage, without any media involvement. They married before a judge in 1989, and Christiana was born in New York City later that year. Some sources mention that Christiana’s parents have a son, too. However, this has not been confirmed yet.

Christiana grew up in New York City and completed her high-school studies in her hometown. She then attended ‘Villanova University’ in Radnor Township, Pennsylvania.
