Career
In 2006, he formed his own band, ‘Asking Alexandria,’ in Dubai. Soon, they released their first album, ‘The Irony of Your Perfection.’ The band played live in the city but did not get the kind of response they were expecting.
Later that year, he moved to England. However, his band broke up within a month of his arrival in his home country. Bruce continued his pursuit of a career in music and put together a new band with the same name, for which he was the main songwriter and collaborator, besides being the lead guitarist.
His initial days in England were taxing, as besides songwriting and being the lead guitarist, he had to put the band together and give it an identity of its own. They went on a number of tours and practiced till late in the night in his apartment, to develop their signature music marked by heavy metallic rock.
His new line-up included the new lead singer, Danny Worsnop. In 2009, they released their first official debut album, ‘Stand Up and Scream,’ produced by Joey Sturgis, through the American record labels ‘Sumerian Records’ and ‘Victory Records.’ The album was a hit in the US, reaching the fourth position on the ‘Top Heatseekers’ list, number 29 on the ‘Top Independent Albums’ list, and number 24 on the ‘Top Hard Rock Albums’ list.
The band released their second album, ‘Reckless and Relentless,’ in 2011, through ‘Sumerian Records’ and Joey Sturgis. The album went international and was popular in the UK and Australia, peaking at the seventh spot on the ‘UK Rock Chart’ and at number 30 on the ‘Australian Albums Chart.’
This was followed by their third album, ‘From Death to Destiny,’ through ‘Sumerian Records’ in 2013. The album was their most successful venture, reaching the first spot on the ‘Top Hard Rock Albums’ list, number 11 in Australia, and number 28 in the UK. This was their third hit album in a row that made its way among the top 10 tracks of various music charts.
In 2014, he featured as a solo artist, singing ‘Shake it Out’ in the cover compilation of ‘Florence + The Machine,’ released by ‘Sumerian Records.’ He then concentrated on the vocals of his solo album, which was more of classic rock ‘n’ roll.
Ben wanted to be associated with every aspect of music and went on to establish ‘KBB Records’ with Kyle Borman in 2014. The company’s first release was the rap metal band 'Scare Don't Fear's first album, ‘From the Ground Up,’ in partnership with ‘Caroline Records,’ in June 2014. Their next release was for the metal band ‘The Family Ruin’ the same year.
He also appeared in the American thriller movie ‘American Satan,’ which was released in October 2017 and featured Ben as ‘Leo Donovan.’
